Roster Notes: for tonight's game against Manitoba

Head Coach Troy Mann will go with 11 forwards and seven defencemen tonight, with the plan to rotate the centre position throughout the game. Jack Dougherty will draw-in on the back end, while forward Joe Carroll will get the night off. Forward Chad Yetman and goaltender Antoine Bibeau are healthy scratches tonight, with Mads Sogaard getting the start for the second night in a row. He’ll be backed up by Kevin Mandolese.

Who to Watch:

The Senators “identity line” of Scott Sabourin, Cole Reinhardt and Cole Cassels has been their most consistent offensively over the past few games, with all three players carrying point streaks into tonight. Sabourin is on a four-game streak (four goals, one assist) and has scored in three straight games. Reinhardt is also on a four-game streak (five assists), while Cassels has a 3-game point streak on the go (three assists).

Defender Declan Chisholm will be Manitoba’s representative at the 2023 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Bell, being held in Laval early next month. The 23-year-old from Bowmanville, Ontario is playing in his third professional season, following four years with the Ontario Hockey League’s Peterborough Petes, and has three goals and 20 assists over 32 games this season. He sits 7th in AHL scoring by defencemen.

And they are playing at home...
Fire everyone.
Still not sure why you all like Mann so much.
You're talking about a team with one player who scored more than 30 points last year, that spends less money than just about any other AHL team, with relatively few high picks/high-end young talent. Also, its not like the other team was hammering us with shots.

He's not a godsend, but your criticism seems like its just made out of frustration.

Thomson is injured, and has been for weeks.

I do think they've moved on from him though. Pretty confident that they'll try to use him as part of the sweetener to dump Zaitsev.
Didn't know he was injured, merci la.

Roster Notes: for tonight's game against the Marlies

Defenceman Jacob-Bernard Docker was recalled back to Ottawa following Saturday’s game and won’t be available to the B-Sens tonight. Jack Dougherty will stay in the lineup to take JBD’s place after returning last weekend from a few games off as a healthy scratch. The Sens are also hoping to have forward Jake Lucchini back from Ottawa tonight after the 27-year-old will was placed on NHL waivers yesterday for the purpose of returning him to the AHL. Though, he could potentially be claimed by another team and will have to clear waivers at 2:00 p.m. ET to be eligible to play tonight. Forward Brennan Saulnier is back from a six-game injury break, but Belleville does have a few more additions to the injured list, including both Mads Søgaard and Antoine Bibeau, which means Kevin Mandolese will start in goal. Emergency backup Alex Horawski will dress tonight as well.

Belleville all-star Egor Sokolov comes into the game with seven points over his last five games played and leads the team at the mid-season point in games played (36), assists (25), points (36), points per game (1.00), power play assists (15), power play points (19), shootout goals (4) and shootout percentage (4/4 or 100%). Former Belleville captain Logan Shaw was named as Toronto’s representative to the 2023 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Bell, in Laval on February 5-6, and brings a five-game point streak into tonight (three goals, nine assists). Shaw’s 42 (13 goals, 29 assists) points also have him tied for second in the overall AHL scoring race. Rookie forward Nick Abruzzese is on a four-game point streak of his own (two goals, five assists) and sits 8th in rookie scoring with 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists). Goaltender Joseph Woll is unbeaten this season, winning all nine games he’s started.
