Roster Notes: for tonights rematch with the Marlies

The top headline up front for Belleville another return of forward Viktor Lodin, who missed Wednesday’s game with the flu and had had multiple spells on the injured list through the first half of the season. He’ll rejoin Ridly Greig and Egor Sokolov on the top line. Brennan Saulnier makes way for Lodin’s return, as he’ll be the only healthy scratch. Jake Lucchini will drop down to play alongside Angus Crookshank and Jayce Hawryluk, with no changes to the bottom-six forwards or defence pairings. Kevin Mandolese will make his second consecutive start in net, after making 35 saves on 40 shots two days ago. He’ll be backed up by Alex Horawski, who will dress again on an emergency basis once again.

Who to Watch:

Though he didn’t find the net, Jake Lucchini was certainly noticeable in his return from the NHL on Wednesday. The 27-year-old had five shots on goal and helped to create some chances and momentum in his regular power play role. Cole Cassels has been leading by example as well of late, he brings a five-game point streak (one goal, five assists) into tonight’s contest.

While Logan Shaw’s six-game point streak (five goals, 10 assists) has lived up to his All-Star selection, Nick Abruzzese has been hot on his heels. Abruzzese is on a five-game point streak of his own (three goals, six assists), including a goal and an assist, plus four shots on goal on Wednesday. Goaltender Joseph Woll is unbeaten this season (10-0-0), while Keith Petruzzelli and Erik Khällgren have each won their last two starts in net.

Roster Notes: for tonight's game against Laval

The NHL recall carousel has continued to turn as the Ottawa Senators returned Jacob Bernard-Docker and Rourke Chartier over the weekend. Chartier will slot in on the top line between Angus Crookshank and Egor Sokolov, taking the place of Ridly Greig, who was called up by the parent club on the weekend as well. Greig, who has been among Belleville’s best players of late and is expected to make his NHL debut tonight when Ottawa hosts the New York Islanders. Bernard-Docker will join his usual defence partner, Dillon Heatherington. Lassi Thomson has also been cleared to return after missing 11 games with an upper-body injury but has only had one practice since getting the OK from team medical staff, and likely won’t dress tonight.

Who to Watch:

Senators sniper Viktor Lodin found the back of the net in last Saturday’s loss to Hershey, notching a power play marker for his first goal in a few games. Jake Lucchini also has points in back-to-back games (two assists) after coming back from the NHL, but the most impressive Belleville forward of late has been Cole Cassels. The veteran forward is on a career-high seven-game point streak (one goal, eight assists), including a helper last game.

Two Rocket players are carrying significant point streaks into tonight’s game. Forward Anthony Richard has eight points (two goals, six assists) over a four-game point streak, while rookie blueliner William Trudeau has five assists over his last four games. Goaltender Kevin Poulin is also on a personal four-game point streak, having started in all of Laval’s games on their recent run.

So just as Chartier comes back, it's Hawryluk's turn to be injured. And of course Greig has now been called up due to Norris' injury.
