Another thing to consider with Miller is that he can come double retained this year. A rare situation where he’s extended long term but his current contract ends at the end of the season. Double retention gives him a cap hit of like 1.3M for this seasoning meaning we can even keep Girard.
I don’t know what the cost would be. I assume it starts with Newhook (who they love) and from there you keep adding. But JT Miller makes a lot of sense to me.

I don't see the Avs targeting Miller at all.
As has been mentioned already, why balk at giving Kadri what he wanted only to turn around a few months later and give actual assets for J.T. Miller at an even bigger cap hit?

The Rangers went out of their way to bring in Trocheck as the 2C rather than handing the job to Chytil this past summer. I think there's a reason for that.
Chytil doesn't strike me as a guy capable of being anything more than a 3C.

Can you imagine Ozo and Makar on the same team? That would be miserable to play against, you make one mistake and that puck is moving up the ice instantly. Not that our current guys can’t do that, but having a 6’3” Ozo rushing the puck up ice would be a different look

Scouting is honestly pretty terrible and hard work... without nearly as much reward as you'd think. Takes a special type of person to do it.
It helps that his linemates are both pretty high IQ players to cover up some of his mental mistakes that allows his natural talent shine through. It really seems to have clicked with him though.
