So decided to watch some recent games of Petersen and I don't think I've seen a goalie guess so often as him. He's guessing about everything from where the shot is going, what's going to happen next, where the puck is, where he should be positioned. He's moving just way too much and is hardly ever set. He's not watching the shot come to him and is instead guessing where it'll go then puts a body part in the way. He's really only looking good in situations where he needed to just react to a situation in close where the shooter couldn't pick a spot. The physical skills are all there and because he shares physical skill set similarities to Georgiev I went back to see if the issue was the same with Georgiev in New York. The issues aren't the same, Georgiev was moving too much but not to this degree. Georgiev just needed some small adjustments to get to where we are. Petersen looks like a goalie you almost need to build back up again.
Sounds like he needs to go to Vancouver.

Joe being a IMO top 5 center of all time and having mackinnon/kadri befuddles me how they cannot identify center talent

Gretzky being the smartest player of all time couldn’t coach a lick. Great players don’t always make the best talent evaluators. Doesn’t preclude it, but certainly doesn’t guarantee it.

MacK was clear center prospect and elite talent for years. Kadri was already a proven 2C. Since the Hepple scouting refresh (and outside 09 anomaly), the Avs haven’t been great at evaluating center prospects for 15+ years.

Didn't realize Kadri was this bad this year
If memory serves, Kadri had 7 points in the first 6 games. That would mean he has been completely shut out since then. Wow. Just WOW.

He’s been on a typical (outside last year) Kadri cold spell. 6 games without a point. 1 ES point in last 12. When he gets out of the funk he will go ppg for 7-8 games.

FTFY

Philippe Myers on waivers. A little surprised, I always thought he was pretty good. Had a rough go in Nashville from the looks of it but that's hardly surprising. Big boy (tall at least) and a very good skater, right-handed shot. I'd be kinda surprised if he cleared. Surely a team like Lumbus that needs warm bodies on the blueline could have a look.

He sucks... anybody picking him up would be doing Tampa a favor.

This is Myers second trip on waivers this season, and I think Nashville waived him once late last season. Maybe something will change due to injuries but so far teams have stayed away.

Assuming health, what do you guys think the Avs roster looks like post trade deadline?

Naz's first 10 points in Calgary were in 7 games. Since then, he's had 5 points, in 14 games. I think he's realizing he's not surrounded by Makar, Toews, Nuke and Landy anymore !
I mean we can poke fun at him but I am 100% believing we don’t win the blues series without him, let alone beating the lightning

Yeah, just because Naz has regressed in Calgary, doesn't mean Avs would go all the way without him, or even have the regular season they had. Kadri was money all season long for the Avs.

Really should've resigned Burky, 25pts in 23 games for 5.5 mil. His pompous haters here gave him way too much flak.
He's also receiving the 3rd-higest TOI of any forward on that team, on the top line and PP1. He was definitely an underrated component of the Cup run, but that's a lot to pay for a guy who would've gotten lost in the middle-6 again as a winger.

When was the last time he was a 3rd liner here? He was very firmly on the 2nd line at least last year.

I liked the guy and would have loved to sign him if we could have, but if Nuke and Landy were healthy we wouldn't even be discussing him
