And Lundell looks like ROR 2.0? I think Stutzle has the higher ceiling but people are treating Lundell like he’s Horvat.

I think Stutzle is just in another tier in terms of potential. He’s got top 5 forward in the league type upside.

I think Stuzle is closer to someone like Jack Hughes than he is Lundell personally.

I’m not arguing that. I agree with the premise that Stutzle has more upside. But Lundells upside is insanely as well.

Would assume Klingberg signing there rules out EJ to the Ducks.

I would only do Byram for Lundell if Toews signs an extension beforehand. If not, you run the risk of only having Girard on the left side.

Lundell has tons of upside as well obviously. Just wouldn’t move Byram for him. Toews/Girard I would.

I’d trade Byram for Stutzle but I don’t think Ottawa would even pick up the phone.

He'll be a centre. His linemates point to him being a centre for sure, he spent hardly any time with a guy like Norris at 5v5. I think he's got superstar written all over him.
I agree I think he will be a center, but it isn't a sure thing yet. Hardly any though? 5v5 he spent ~10% of his time with Norris. That's not insignificant (BTW they were terrible together).

Lundell's ceiling is Bergeron 2.0. He's absurdly good on both ends of the ice... might even have more offensive pop to his game.

Yes hardly any time. He played 83 minutes with Norris at 5v5. That's nothing.

I think it’s pretty close to a sure thing at this point. He flourished at C this year and Ottawa went out and added two very good wingers. Giroux would be a perfect fit next to him.

He’s awful at faceoffs but Sens fans were raving about his play once he got moved to C. I don’t know the exact numbers but they were really promising. Think he had a stretch of 30 points in like 25 games at C.

P. Stastny7121244514856.51 year contract

:sarcasm:

Byram for Lundell is definitely in the ball park of fair, but if I were MacFarland I wouldn't move Byram for anything.

25-28 minute performances in the Stanley Cup Finals, a couple weeks after his 21st birthday, is nothing short of insane.

Yeah he played great to finish the season in a larger role. I'm a believer in him. I'm simply stating it hasn't been proven. With the Petey, Hughes, Lundell group... they've proven their ability at center.

Fair enough. I was under the impression he started the season at LW than was switched to C and never looked back. Ottawa went out and grabbed two great wingers and he was more or less pencilled in as a C.

But yeah guess he doesn’t have the 82 game stamp those other guys do.

Byram should be untouchable unless someone wants to clearly overpay. Could very well turn into one of the best Dmen in the league.
I would just call him untouchable period. The level that he was playing at in the playoffs at a fresh 21 years old with all the disruptuions in his development was amazing. I'm excited to see him continue to develop.

JTC + Newhook + 1st for Kane @50%. Also send Arizona a 4th round pick to get another $1.75M retention on Kane(Which gets Arizona just above the cap floor as well) so we get Kane at $3.5M

Sign Stastny and Rodrigues at 1x1.75M each.

Landy - Mack - Nuke
Kane - Stastny - Mikko
Lehky - Meyers - Rodrigues
LOC - Helm - Cogliano

This board is effed up. It went from trade G/Johnson, to Toews, and now to Byram. Clearly most have forgotten how shitty the Avs D were for the longest time. We need a 2C not a 1C. You win by starting with the back end
I'm the one who suggested the Lundell/Byram idea, but it was simply for the sake of discussion to gauge opinion. Feel free to fill the airwaves with other topics of conversation if you have any better ideas :)

Yeah I'd trade Byram for Lundell if Florida would. Not a chance they do that though. Lundell is a superstar in the making and the perfect 2C behind Barkov long term.

They'll move Bennett in 2 years time when Lundell is an RFA to make room for him in the Top 6.

I think they’d definitely consider it with how weak they are on defence.

It’s not like Lundell has a higher ceiling than Byram.

Kane being shopped/available right now is actually more a problem for us than if Chicago held him for longer.
