Rumor: 2022-2023 Trade Rumors and Free Agency (Mod Warning in OP)

Probably both teams to be honest. Makar loves playing with Toews, and their partnership has led to a lot of good things. I don't see the Avs trading away a top pair defenseman for Lundell.

I really don't see a trade of Toews in the cards next off-season either; I think the team would make other moves before touching Toews considering his character, his reliability, and how well he meshes with Makar. The one caveat here is if Byram proves he can stay healthy and breaks out in a big way. But even then, I think the team keeps Toews until at least UFA. It will be the best value contract on the team in terms of cap efficiency in 2023-2024.

Legitimate top pair defenseman is a harder hole to fill than 2C, especially when you have two elite wingers on the line.
 
Offseason is almost over and I legit didn't know that the Tampa fanbase was feeling this way about the cup finals.

Just a few fans who have been overly spoiled the past few years that can't accept the loss. Even a few Tampa fans in there who have a more even take on events.

Had more points but I felt kadri was more consistent. Mack had games were he played big but so did kadri. Mack had more games were he was not a major factor especially against st Louis and Tampa...ultimately the point I'm trying to make is that all of a sudden a lot of folks on here are tryin to trivialize kadri,s contributions to our run by making claims that what we have in newhook and SOB should be enough or a better than average center will be able to carry the load as long as we have mack. Which is total bullshit. In order to continue to win we need a very good number 2. History has shown us Mack cannot carry this team. He needs a very good number 2 to help carry the load.. if SOB and newy were so good, we would not have needed Naz to come back playing with a hand and a half
 
Avs would have beaten Tampa without Naz. He had the miracle goal but other than that was a total non factor and looked to be in difficulty

I was born near St Louis and still have family there although we don't talk. Come to think of it they would probably prefer to be called kin. I prefer not to call at all. :D

Thst might have something to do with playing with a broken thumb?

He was arguably our best, most consistent forward all season, especially when Mackinnon was hurt.

He was a huge reason for our success and will be missed. There is no-one available who can replace what he brought.

Obviously its because of the broken thumb. But I think Avs would have won without him. 2-1 without him in the lineup vs Tampa and he wasn't a huge factor after reinsertion. No doubt he was important in the season too, but I think its clear Avs could beat the best (Tampa) with Compher as 2C

The Eakin’s of the world don’t really have a place on this roster. The 4th line is set.

I will say though, even if they’re planning to run a variation of Newhook/Meyers/Compher at 2/3C there’s a hole on the wing on the 3rd line.
