I still think it's better to just wait and find a suitable 2C at the TDL rather than taking away from the strength of our defense. I feel like our dynamic defense is the whole identity of this team. Loosing anyone on the backend would mean being 1 injury away from a bottom pairing of a bunch of questionable rookies and AHL lifers. If Mack or Makar get hurt, we're f***ed no matter what, so I don't think it's even worth wondering/worring about the "what ifs" concerning those two. I'd rather keep G/Bo and find a Center later and let Meyers and/or Newhook know that if they want the 2C spot, now would be their best chance to impress.

It has nothing to do with the importance in the position and has all to do to with trust that the team will make the move if one exists.
The vision of this FO is deeply flawed. The endless amount of film I've watched this summer tells me MacFarland is a mad king. He must go. The fact Manson and Compher remain on this team is heretical.

I trust sakic/Mac Vision For the team. They’ve been to the playoffs 5 consecutive yearsand have won a cup. Making moves to just make moves can often be detrimental. I also think we need to see how some of our ahl guys get some games to see what we have. I’m sure like someone mentioned that it there was something the management team liked this off-season they would have done something. With all the due raises next year you have to keep a eye on the future a bit
Mack being healthy and the D staying healthy doesn’t replace Kadri’s production and certainly not his impact on the roster.
No one was willing to take Compher because of his salary for the 3rd liner. Manson is a different story, we just signed him. He is a playoff type of player that Avs will need. I am still getting goosebumps on my arms every time I hear that name "Manson" I don't really know why but as long as he is a player that really elevates his game in playoff then it is all good.
Its hilarious reading posters try to justify losing 20 minutes of ice time and 80+ points that way.
It's not a video game where you just go out and make any move you think you can. Salary cap world means choices have to be made, some of them hard ones. Besides you have no idea what the management has tried to do.
I mean we don’t need to replace 80pts. But ~20mins and 50-55pts is what we need at the 2C spot.

That would help too. Will at least be good for another 20 or 30 points on top of 80+ MacK got in 60 games. If he plays close to 80 games he'll score 100 + for sure. But they still need to make up some of the points they lose in Naz
