He was also bad this year and not good against us 2 years ago with Vegas. MAF is only worth it if he comes for 1 year and he’s dirt cheap.
Regarding Marc-Andre Fleury, he's a divisive player so not much I can say will change anyones minds.
But considering there is at least some smoke that he's Colorado's "Plan B", it's worth pointing out his past season wasn't as bad as the numbers may indicate:

October was a nightmare for both Fleury and the Seth Jones re-tooled Blackhawks, but MAF bounced back in November. His post-October numbers aren't great, but they're good/respectable given Fleury was playing for a very bad Blackhawks team that went 9-21-7 in the games he didn't play.
For reference, his November+ numbers are similar to goalies like Campbell (28-7-5, 2.69, .913), Demko (30-19-6, 2.75, .913), and Oettinger (30-15-1, 2.53, .914) over the same period.
Just food for thought. Bookmark this post in case there's a meltdown on this board July 13th.
Can he win a faceoff?
When you're practicing against Nate MacKinnon most of the time and the guy looks like he'd rather be anywhere but the faceoff circle, it's bound to reduce your effectiveness. He was 33rd in the league at 52.07% this past season, but once he comes over he’s certain to fall below 45%

At those numbers it’s probably a wash. I’d take Kuemper I guess. However I expect Fleury to be willing to take less than 2 to play in Colorado while I think Kuemper costs more.MAF at $3M or Kuemper at $5M?

Please god no.I’m with Frank as a starter. Give Justus a real test as a backup and then obtain someone with experience before trade deadline.
MAF could play terribly even compared to last year, and still be better in net than Kuemper was. He absolutely would be a better option, especially given the price and term.
That's a solid 2M per season more than I'd be willing to pay Darcy as a GM.I still think Darcy will re-up for around 5M. He could probably get 1M more/year on the open market, but I don't think he has that much leverage with the Avs at the moment and he seems to like the team/fit/winning
Just to be clear, the 'official' tampering period has been abolished... so GMs will go back to doing it 'unofficially' like before.Joe is simply doing his due diligence to get an idea of Kuemper’s demands. During the tampering period, he’ll get a sense of where to go. But he’s definitely gonna lock down his option earlier this time to avoid what happened last season.
There's reasons. He was inconsistent and downright terrible some games, but also showed up in a big way some games and played very well in the latter part of the season. We don't really know how much his eye affected his game, so there's that too. Just out of curiosity, who would you replace him with? That's a solid 2M per season more than I'd be willing to pay Darcy as a GM.
Please, Joe. Just walk away. Dude is 32 years old and was the worst goalie statistically in the playoffs for a Cup winning team since Grant Fuhr in 1988. Just. Walk. Away.
