Give Montreal credit, they're going to put on a show with the draft in their arena. 1st OA and now maybe 7th OA.

Tomorrow is going to be an awesome day for their fans.

From the main board:

Per a plugged in poster on the Preds Boards- Team sources reporting FF9 is going to test free agency. Where will he go? Hopefully he stays in the South. I like the idea of him in Carolina.

If Forsberg tests UFA he's walking, as he'd be passing up the 8th year if he does

Wright and Lekkerimaki would be an incredible combo to grab. Get a future 1C with two way upside to build with Suzuki... and get the most skilled player in the draft, even if he has some warts to his game.

3 year deal for Kuemper sounds like I'm going to be back to angry and @Avs_19 is going to want to give @The Kingslayer a stone cold stunner.
Watch when Kuemper lets in the same damn goals he was letting in in the playoffs. How long we going to say its his eye lol That Jan Rutta goal reminded me of Adam Burish blowing one by Budaj from the same spot. Just horrible.

Is this feasible at all? Do Rants at 2C and get Forsberg?

Landy MacK Nuke
FF Rants Lehk

They’re gonna suck so bad if he goes. Unless they replace him with Gaudreau maybe.

Calgary have a $9.5m X 8 offer for Gaudreau on the table... I wonder if they wouldn't add a bit to that for Forsberg at $10m x7 to replace Gaudreau. Forsberg would get more money ($70m) than what Nashville are offering (8x8ish, $64m), and get to play on a team full of swedes.

Kulak would be a great add even if you kept Girard.

Byram - Makar
Toews - Girard
Kulak - EJ

He'll get more than that. Probably somewhere in the $6.5-7.5m range depending on term.

You think up to $7.5? I think his ceiling would be $6.5 as the top, but I guess only time will tell. To me an elite 2C is getting $7.5 and a good one is getting around $6m range.

Fleury's Cup win (well, the Cup win where he actually played in the Finals) was over a decade ago in 2009. Credit to him for having a great career, fun personality, and all that, but the last three playoff seasons saw him watching his team's elimination game from the bench. And the last two times he got his name on the Cup, he was cheering on from the bench watching Matt Murray win the thing.
While I’m not advocating for Fleury as Colorado’s next goalie, he was considerably more than a cheerleader during the Pens’ 2017 Cup run.

If he’s also unloading Murray’s contract while also getting pick #26 back it’s not a bad deal for Ottawa.
It's still awful. If you are trading high value assets, get something actually good in return or don't make the trade. It's not even a move Ottawa has to make.

We sure do like to draft goalies that never amount to anything or just disappear like this guy: Shamil Shmakov

We seemed to give up on Werner and Kvaca rather quickly as well.

Just walk away from Darcy, Joe!

Seriously, we won DESPITE him in the playoffs. Some of those goals were really really bad. And I don't buy that it was all his bad eye's fault. He doesn't poke check at all! Did you see Vasi disrupt like 5-10 good scoring chances with a great poke check throughout that series? Plus, Darcy reminded me of a dead sloth the way he was moving in some of those games. Just say no!!!!

I don't want to overpay Kuemper but I don't get people hating on his play, especially when the season-long stats don't warrant it. In the playoffs he was to the Avs what Corey Crawford was for the Hawks in their runs. He didn't need to be world class and won't need to be if the team in front of him remains as strong.

Corey Crawford is a significantly better goalie than Kuemper ever has been.

He was also bad this year and not good against us 2 years ago with Vegas. MAF is only worth it if he comes for 1 year and he’s dirt cheap.
Again, I don’t want MAF, as I agree, his best days are long gone. I’m merely pointing out unlike in 2016 his contribution to P’puke’s 2017 Cup victory was significantly more than sitting on the bench rooting for Murray for 4 rounds.
