Kadri and Trochek are eerily similar production wise. Here are their numbers since 2018:

He'd be a great a great target for Colorado in my eyes, especially his forechecking style. I think he'll get more than Danault got ($5.5AAV) but I doubt it's by too much; probably $6-$6.5M. The Avalanche can afford that without dumping any salary.
I've been pouring cold water on the Trocheck idea because Joe hasn't really been one to outbid for free agents.
But in reality, a lot of the truisms regarding JS have changed over the past year:
> He had never traded a first round pick. Last summer he used it to trade for Kuemper.
> He wasn't one to mortgage the future to win now. Last TDL, that's precisely what he did.
> He kept a player like McDermaid on the roster to protect the other guys.
Joe has pivoted in a variety of ways recently already. So maybe he spends enough to get Trocheck? Another pivot that we might see is by identifying core players and ride or die with them by giving them term, especially if they come down on their AAV.
Am I the only one who's not convinced on Puljujarvi? I didn't watch him a ton during the regular season but during our 4 game wipeout of the oilers, not once did I think to myself "wow, that was a great forecheck by him that led to a good chance". I barely noticed him at all... maybe that's a product of playing on a team that is so dependant on #97 and #29 providing all the offense... I dunno.
I wouldn't be opposed to trading for him as long as it doesn't cost much.
I had a similar impression except with RNH. What an inconsequential player he was.
