I don't agree that Kane on the 2nd line is the same as having a center BTW. If we don't get a center then we start the season with Compher at 2C and that's not acceptable regardless of Patrick Kane.

If this came to pass, probably much more likely that Rantanen would be started at center.

Assuming that Georgiev signs for 3.25M and JJ signs for 1M (I don't see him signing for less than that after Cogs got 1.25M).

Do we have enough money left for Trocheck, Lehky, Nuke and Manson?

It would be tight as heck. I presume those four will combine roughly for $20M-ish (Nichushkin,Trochek ~$6ea; Lehkonen,Manson ~$4ea). By my count the Avs would have $19.27M if signing the contracts you mentioned:

Landeskog-MacKinnon-Rantanen
x-x-x
Newhook-Meyers-Compher
Cogliano-Sedlak-O'Connor
MacDermid

Toews-Makar
Byram-Johnson
Girard-x
Johnson

Georgiev
Francouz

Georgiev $3.25m X 3
JJ $1m X 1
NAK $1.225m x1
Nichuskin $5.5m x6-7

That would leave just over $8.5m. Probably enough for Trocheck $6-6.5m) and a ~$1.5-2m Dman, but not Manson.

Shaving off $250k on both Georgiev and JJ, and replacing NAK with someone at $1m would save about $750k to bring the number up to $9.25m, which still wouldn't be enough to bring back Manson (~$4m) if you sign Trocheck at $6-6.5m.

As many including myself said with Cogliano getting a $250k raise, those little amounts quickly add up. If you give Georgiev and JJ $3.25m and $1m instead of $3m and $750k respectively, along with QO'ing NAK, you've basically used up $1m that may have been saved and applied up the lineup.

Eh Husso older and weaker track record. Plus this was just for his UFA rights.

THATS EXPENSIVE

Lol, glad we didn't go with Husso at that number.

Detroit somewhat surprisingly grabbing one of the best UFA goalies left will put more pressure on Toronto, Edmonton, NJ, and Washington now. Kuemper and Campbell are gonna get PAID judging by that Husso deal.

The goalie market is a gold mine for sellers. It pays so well if you're able to develop your own goalies. Campbell and DK are about to be paid. Good time to be an average starting goalie in this league.
