Why do you think?

What I was getting at is how this sort of news rarely comes from the guys covering the Avs.

To be fair that probably has a lot to do with the Avs being tight-lipped so things usually only leak from the other side.

Precedent was set to get a 3rd for kuemper. Joe will know what he’s looking for and can pass that info on to the team.

I hope so badly Edmonton signs him to a long term 6+ aav. That will blow up so badly in their face.

And nuke is getting close F yessssss

Getting Nuke extended well before free agency would be awesome. And kudos to Joe for the savvy move on the goalie front. Georgiev was apparently not going to get a QO from NYR but on the UFA market anything can happen, including having to massively overpay.

I think Campbell winds up in New Jersey, Edmonton gets Kuemper, and Toronto find themselves in a serious pinch, ultimately dealing to San Jose for Reimer or some other scrub.
Don't forget, you also have Washington that is looking to upgrade in goal.

I think this part has got to be making Dubas shaking in his shorts a little bit. They are the 'contender' and can't afford to be left haggling with Jaroslav Halak or trying to pry Jake Allen out of Montreal - to be their starter???

Not sure how Toronto can afford to let Kuemper get away especially since Husso just signed. What are they gonna do, make a trade from a massive position of weakness to get Bobrovsky?

We'd get breaking news if we had real guys covering the team (like Strickland).

Toronto only have a 2, 3, and 7 in this draft.

Edmonton are missing a few picks in the mid rounds the next two drafts as well.

NJ have a few extra mid round picks though, could see them making a move if they believe Kuemper will sign there.

After everything we've done for the Capitals over the years to alleviate their goaltending situations, you'd think they'd want to return the favor when it's their turn...

Pick 70 that WSH just acquired would be nice value for Kuemper.

If that happened Sakic will effectively have moved Kuemper's UFA rights for Georgiev straight across, since the picks to NYR are about equal to pick 70.
