It's been ages since we've had a good amount of talent on Team Canada WJC team. Will be a treat.

Like I said Rangers need to improve their scouting at the all levels of the organization. That was a brutal trade.
And at a dumb moment They were dressing OGara, Sproul, Gilmour regularly late that season
Their careers since (4 seasons have passed) then similar to Bigras (9 total NHL games since, all Gilmour)

since Bigras acquired by NYR
Ryan Graves 249 NHL games (RS+PS)
Bigras 0
The Rangers under Slats and Gorton would regularly accommodate trade requests if the player kept quiet about it and was a good soldier in Hartford. We usually got the shit end of the stick in those situations, but none worse than Graves. I still don’t understand why they didn’t give the kid a real shot. He was an AHL All Star that year, and he couldn’t get a legit shot at the roster.

So Othmann went from possibly not even being on the team to having a chance at being on the LW with McTavish and Bedard wow.

Yes, the Rangers in the recent past have been very accommodating with players who want out, as long as the player remains cooperative until they can find a move. And in the case of European players, they've often been willing to simply agree to a mutual termination.

Graves is the poster boy for "stagnated development, needs a change of scenery." The year he was traded, I remember posting on here how I thought he had actually regressed somewhat as a player that season. He just didn't look like he was going to be able to take the next step. I think the Rangers felt the same way and took a flyer on Bigras, who was in a similar position. Obviously it didn't work out, which happens. I'd criticize the Rangers for not recognizing what they had with Graves, but like I said, I personally didn't see it with him either.

You win some, you lose some. The same regime turned Spooner into Strome.

I believe that was because he was playing on a U.S. based team (Flint) and Hockey Canada couldn’t make it work with border crossings during Covid restrictions.

So does this mean that Cuylle has played center before or is this just the players without any positions?? I know it is unlikely, but Hayes moved from wing to center, I don’t see why Cuylle can’t do this either.

That, and the bad blood between Othmann and Hockey Canada following the u18s where they tried to force him to play through injury and he refused.

Product of his team. Othmann's better.
This is a ridiculous comment. Windsor was definitely a deeper team than Flint, but Johnston was the best player in the OHL last year. Othmann also had a fantastic year, and there’s no need to compare the two. Othmann was a good pick.

Being upset that the Rangers didn’t take him is also ridiculous since he was considered a reach where Dallas took him since he was primarily expected to be a second rounder. Johnston just took a massive leap forward and vastly outperformed his expectations last season.

That was obviously sarcasm  It's what other fanbases always say about our prospects
