Because they made that soft ass call. I've seen players talk shit all the time after goals and it goes uncalled. It's not like he took his glove off and gave the whole bench the finger.
Thinking that call is soft is fine, but what you said is that he's unfairly targeted by referees, which is just not true.

How do we know that? We have seen it in the NHL. We know some players are given much shorter leashes.

Because I've watched dozens of his games since we drafted him and have not observed anything resembling unfair treatment of him by the referees and have not ever heard one person make that accusation before you just did right now.

Well that’s just your opinion, like mine. So we can leave it at that.

I'm not that worries about Othmann. The Rangers need more pricks like that in the organization.

They have all this Dolan money, it's their job to get staff to help the players hold it together off the ice. JT Miller should still be here if they had a sports shrink or social worker equivalent.

If he does go off the rails or blows up the locker room this will be two regimes who drafted loose cannons and that does call for Dolan to intervene.

Othmann was scoreless and Peterborough was shut out. Since the trade, Peterborough is 3-5 with Othmann contributing 2 goals and 6 assists. In the same period, Flint is 5-2-1.

Barbashev had a goal.

Korczak had 2+1 and was the first star. He has 6-8-14 in 8 games since going back. On the other side, Grubbe was scoreless but did have 7 shots.

Boyko had another tough one, allowing 5 goals on 26 shots. He's sporting an .882 SV% and 3.88 GAA over 11 games since going back.

Kjellberg was scoreless. I only mention it because he has just 5 points in 17 games this year after having 27 in 43 last year. He's looking a lot less interesting this season, LOL.

None of the other guys did anything.

Honestly, Othmann probably needs a year in the AHL to sort some of this stuff out. It's easy to act like a dick when you're older and larger than 90% of the league. It's easy to act like a dick knowing you're a big-time scorer and your team has to put up with you because of it.

I want nothing but success for the kid, but he probably needs a slice of humble pie somewhere along his development path. He'll be ground into hamburger if he tries some of this shit in the AHL, and it might end up being good for him.

Keep the edge and swagger, but throw out all of the immature garbage.

I wouldn't get too worked up about Othmann and his former team. If I were a Flint player I'd have been razzing him the whole game because for all the effort he put into getting moved to a team closer to his home he's struggled to get on the scoreboard since that move. He had like one goal on 27 shots since the trade when he scored against the Firebirds. I have to think his former teammates were giving him a lot of shit just because and it's got nothing to do with whether they liked him or not. It's just a get under the skin thing.

Ollas stopped 35/36 shots for the win. Merrimack is having an awesome season, and so is Ollas so far.
I have no problem with the team consistently using 6th/7th round picks on these kinds of goalies. One of these monsters is going to pan out eventually. Goalies are hard to project, and while I haven't seen the data, I'd imagine they have just as much chance of hitting as a skater pick would.

Ollas is 6-4 with a 1.72 and .932 for the team currently ranked 5th in the pairwise. The only bummer is he still has to split starts with the other guy, Borgiel, though that guy is posting numbers close to Ollas so I get it.
