Yes, Barber was one of those guys at odds with Bouchard. If I recall correctly, he was also unhappy about not being given a chance with the big club.

I don't think we should sign him. We already have a bit of a logjam in Laval.

Zero points in three brief stints in the NHL with three different teams. Now 29 years old. Suivant/next!

Like I said a career AHL player who by now knows it, and is probably more accepting of the situation if he wants a contract with a team.

Looking at the list of still unsigned UFA's , the only name that looks interesting is Riley Barber, a career AHLer who puts up a point per game. I know he had a short stint in Laval under the previous regime and coaching staff,. Any interest in adding a veteran to boost the team surrounding the kids to take some of the offensive pressure off them? Generally teams without solid vets fair poorly in the AHL.

We have a ton of bodies in the NHL/AHL now, but if we did clear some room one guy I think who might interest Hughes for the AHL might be Colin White since he was one of Hughes' clients as an agent. Hughes has already brought in some former clients here in Matheson, Newhook and Richard last year.

White's NHL career has bottomed out largely due to injuries, so perhaps he might be interested in an AHL role to try and build up confidence offensively.

Less than zero interest in Barber. The only place he belong in Laval is on the board following a legal check. Same thing for Matthew Peca.

Fair enough! Without being privy to what actually happened I am less hesitant to believe t was all the players fault. Given Bouchards ladk of success as an AHL coach I am sure the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
That being said, if not him, do you feel there is still a need for a PPG veteran on Laval, or would you feel confident going into the season with the current roster and vets?

I think they're done with acquisitions, they already seem to have too many players TBH.

They got Maillet and Andersson for that. That's not counting the guys waived since they have too many forwards.

Pitlick is done and Ylonen now has a space for him with Habs;
Mesar is not ready for AHL play at all. OHL or Europe for him next season.
Kidney and Mysak are ECHL level

Now Laval got Légaré and Davidson. They have re-signed McKay to take care of tough business. Plus they just re-signed Yaremko.

And who knows if they could get rid of Armia and Dvorak before the season start. That would open a job for Farrell maybe.

If Petry, De Smith, Pezetta stay in Montreal, Ylonen will play in Laval. The management has decided that Mesar will play in Laval. Kidney is a more important prospect than Davidson. Yarenko will start in Trois Rivieres. McKay can be in Laval. Don't think Farell is ready for the NHL. The Habs wasted too many prospects by letting them play in the NHL too early so letting them develop in Laval is the best solution.
