Tampa, FL.
As far as an acquisition on the blueline, Nick Seeler from Philly seems like he could be a good fit. Only 775k this year and next, is a solid defensive dman.that can likely fit on.any pairing, and has some decent stats. He could probably be had for around a.3rd, so maybe something around Foote for him?

Normally, I don't put much weight into the tweets about what scouts are present, but with Lafferty out of tonight's game against SJ, I think it'd say something if there weren't any TB guys at that game.

Bah humbug. Screw a bunch of PP+1 scoring line logic. This is exactly why Boston hasn't been able to win another Cup or beat us in a series. Just because we nearly pulled it off with that formula last year doesn't mean anything now. I didn't actually expect that it could somehow get even harder for us than it did last year and I'll be damned if we aren't gonna have Remade Leafs+President Boston+Remade NYR on our schedule and God knows what's waiting for us in the Finals

Rolling 1 line is gonna wind up in us getting our asses kicked because we're gonna have to play defense 80% of the game while the ONE LINE that actually dictates play just sits there waiting for it's next shift. We literally lost the Cup to Chicago because of this problem and to the Pens and Capitals. Last year we got injured as can be and our scoring puttered out again

Sell EVERYTHING for one last Cup and get Kane and Gavrikov. If you wanna shut shit down throw Cirelli on the ice with Killer. It's a guaranteed "Nothing's gonna happen" while our scoring lines drive the other team mad and the school bus only needs to figure out 10 minutes a night

You don't beat Boston by turning into Boston. They finally figured out how to roll more than PP+1 scoring line for the first time in like 10 years and they're probably gonna set all the damn records now. You HAVE TO fight fire with fire.

All the boring ass "death by structure" we love to do can wait when until we're up 2 goals. But at this rate 2 goals is all this team is gonna manage when our opponent is throwing EVERYTHING it has at us
You said it much better than I have been trying too. We are able to roll three scoring lines. And Coops insistence in keeping Paul on 3 and running Cirelli on 2 has crippled the 2nd line scoring. I mean you have a guy that is having a career year(Paul) then you shut him down , makes no sense to me. It slowed Stammer as well and he was moved up to the Point line to score number 500 then sent back to line two . When you have players producing it is never wise to monkey with the lines. Now Hagel is spending time on 2nd line and his production has slowed as well. All of this in order to put Cirelli on the 2nd line. Just not good when you can build a shutdown line on 3 with Cirelli and have two producing lines.

i wouldnt mind Schenn but i dont think hes what we need. LA has a couple of potential RHD that could be available, Durzi is a name that comes to mind as he has some offense in his game and hes only 1.7m for this year and next. i know the "Tampa way" is no short dmen but adding some speed to the back end would help alot
Gotta think JBB would love that contract. Can't see LA parting ways with roster players though.

Hawks need a second or just keep him. One of the hardest workers on the ice for the Hawks. Great on the penalty kill.

As much as it pains me as I'm one of his biggest fans, does anyone think you could see a surprise Colton trade kinda like Joseph last year?

He seems destined to replace Killorn as 2LW next year, but given that he has never ever gotten top 6 time despite all the line juggling they do sometimes, makes me think Cooper doesn't trust him there. And with being a RFA, and likely looking at a $2 million pay raise at least, might not fit in the tight budget next year.

Lafferty has the most shorthanded goals in the NHL. Sam also has size, speed, and term. He would be an awesome addition.

I think it would have to be a big move to justify it. Colton appears to be finally realizing just how well he can shoot the puck.

Seems like there is still another level to his game that we havent seen yet, whereas with Joseph, he just never found a role, even if every once in a while he looked like a guy who would be great on an energy line.

Colton looks more like he has a place with us. Not saying it's impossible, but I feel like it would have to be a major trade. Joseph for Paul was more like two guys struggling to fit in.

Am I wrong here, but I feel like Joseph was never the player Colton is?

I think most would agree the weakest link is PEB. That being said, Sam's addition would allow Paul to slide backup to the 2nd line. Cirelli and Lafferty would be a nightmare to play against.

Agreed.

Not comparing them as players, just the situation. Joseph was just a 3rd/4th line player who was due for a raise that they didn't want to pay for his role, and Colton should be making at worst $3.5 million next year. If they don't see him as a top 6 option (purely my speculation) then paying that much for a 3rd liner with how tight we'll be against the cap doesn't seem wise. This is all moot if they do see him as the 2LW next year.

I'd like to think they're just trying to sandbag Colton's numbers to keep his salary down then unleash him with better linemates and more ice time after this year and watch him pot 25ish goals a year haha

I think we would all agree. But even beyond that, it was like Joseph could just never find a role. Didn't quite work as an energy guy, didn't work as a skill guy. Sort of similar to Namestnikov maybe? Very different players, but the same problem.
