I wish after today, we could just fast forward to the draftYou da man. Get some rest; new season just around the corner.![]()
I am trying to press A to fast forward, but the game does not let me do it.I wish after today, we could just fast forward to the draft
I'm so nervous about the Vote, because we all don't know what Plan B is and if it is viable.
This year's Memorial Cup has yet to be playedGeekie still up and down in the playoffs or has he been having more consistent games? That tweet saying the T-Birds are facing off vs "Connor Geekie and the Winnipeg Ice" makes it feel like he has been a big factor in the Memorial Cup
until he gets some consistent PP time he will continue to be underutilized by the Ice.Geekie still up and down in the playoffs or has he been having more consistent games? The ICE have been contenders and brought in big name acquisitions and have hung into older players. Geekie, being a long-term project, has been given the backseat in these situations, I think. My guess is next year is a big step forward for him. And that once he turns pro, it’s going to be another adjustment with growth over time. Then it’ll be that way AGAIN in the NHL. I think this kid is going to take quite a while.until he gets some consistent PP time he will continue to be underutilized by the Ice.
I hope this year's 12th pick is a hell of a lot better than our 11th pick last year. The ICE have been contenders and brought in big name acquisitions and have hung into older players. Does his play warrant consistent PP time?until he gets some consistent PP time he will continue to be underutilized by the Ice.
And Wheeler. And Tuch.Regarding these comments about Geekie and inconsistencies/adjustments.
Anyone remember if there were similar concerns about Tage Thompson from draft day to ?
I won't be making any evaluations until he's 23.
Absolutely. Geekie has legitimately had a 5 point game and next game he received scraps of PP.I hope this year's 12th pick is a hell of a lot better than our 11th pick last year.

Is he getting any defensive assignments? Never a bad thing to bone up on your defensive game if the coach isn't providing the prime offensive opportunities.Absolutely. Geekie has legitimately had a 5 point game and next game he received scraps of PP.
Because we want our prospects to succeed now, Now, NOW!Everyone was told over and over again that he would take a long time. Not sure why there’s complaining after 11 months.
He is playing a very strong 2 way game. He looks huge.Is he getting any defensive assignments? Never a bad thing to bone up on your defensive game if the coach isn't providing the prime offensive opportunities.
I would expect any tutelage he's gotten from Shantz or any of the development staff would emphasize aspects of his game that will translate to the pro game. And someone mentioned above his offensive game will pick up with more TOI once Ostapchuk (and maybe Savoie) graduates. He is playing a very strong 2 way game. He looks huge.

Cmon....you know better than that.Everyone was told over and over again that he would take a long time. Not sure why there’s complaining after 11 months.
I'll happily take the Sean Couturier development path if needed. In fact a slow build up may be even better for long term success as long as Cooley and the two forwards we take this year hit in the 2-3 seasons. The ICE have been contenders and brought in big name acquisitions and have hung into older players. Geekie, being a long-term project, has been given the backseat in these situations, I think. My guess is next year is a big step forward for him. To reach the NHL, but he should have dominated this year in junior, with his size, experience and all. Maybe it has been coaching as hbk has hinted.Everyone was told over and over again that he would take a long time. Not sure why there’s complaining after 11 months.
there are aspects of his game that need improvement. He needs to be better on not giving up the puck and find options to distribute or just dump in deep and use your size to win a battle. That being said I have noticed some improvement in his skating. You have to remember that his home rink is not NHL regulation size. It's actually wider by about 15 feet if I recall correctly. That's a rink more conducive to east/west movement versus the north south game that Geekie needs to play in order to be effective. It's why the Savoie's and Bensen's on the team can dipsy doodle like they have all the room in the world. That goes away on opposing rinks. To reach the NHL, but he should have dominated this year in junior, with his size, experience and all. Maybe it has been coaching as hbk has hinted.
