I cancelled when they tried to bill something stupid like $70 for the renewal...then waited a couple of weeks and snagged $1/month for 6-months, which I've got a calendar reminder set to cancel a week before that term concludes so that I can wait for the next $1/month special. Not worth much more than that to me; even though I like a lot of the non-Blues content.

Was an early adopter for $80 annually. Right away they're offering $42 per year. I don't mind paying the early adopter price but you figure that was for their stats for their pitch deck so they could go raise more money. Instead of being grateful toward early adopters they treated them like sponsoring donors to a political party and deliberately didn't cancel people when they requested, better to make them grind refunds out of you since few will take the effort.

I've heard this exact same story from too many early adopters not to understand it as a deliberate knowing strategy, and knowing that they planned to gouge their early adopters means I can never give them more money.

Yeah, I decided to cancel mine, which was about to renew, and immediately it pops up an offer for $2/month.

I like the prospect stuff, and I'm a Chelsea fan, and the soccer coverage is pretty solid, but in general, I rarely use it, so I'm just going to cancel.

I still find it Hilarious that Kyrou, a player who has played like one shift on the PK this year (pulled the goalie while on the PK against the Oilers and him and Vladi connected for a goal) is 2nd in Blocked shots among forwards on the team. I know shot Blocks are more of a Defense thing. But I expected Barbie and Schenn to be higher.

Tarasenko is much more of a shot blocker than Barbashev or Schenn. While Braden and Barby do it and are frequently in the top six forwards for shot blocking (more so Barby than Schenn), they really are not big time shot blockers.

Definitely fair. Still surprised how much Kyrou jumps in front of pucks. He tries to play defensively most of the time. He's just not the best defensively.

I'm pleased that Kyrou looks like he's trying to play some defense out there. It's good to see. He's not very good at it right now, but, with time and in-game experience, he will improve.

Kyrou needs to slow down a little because most of his teammates are not thinking the game as fast as he is. Thomas does, but he also loses the puck and has to chase it for the same as Kyrou. Keeping those two on a line is a must, for now. I call them the Quantum Qids.

When Bolduc comes along, maybe separating JK and RT would be good. But not until other modern, dynamic players join the team.

Make sure your CC info isn't available for them to bill prior to expiration. In 2021, I had 6 or 12 months free from T-Mobile, and carefully noted the expiration date with the intent to cancel about 7 days prior. 10 days prior to the expiration date, The Athletic billed for a full year.

The Athletic's policy on refunds: no refunds for any reason.

My credit card company's response to The Athletic: bullshit, you will refund the money.

I got my money back and still have the full-year subscription, which runs out in a couple weeks.

Mother f***er stickhandles to much instead of just using his speed to beat people to the outside. He tries to stick handle through them and it's like dude, just go the f*** around them.

I think the lack of slot passes is because Kyrou doesn't find space to receive them like Buch and Tarasenko last year. If the defense collapses and covers the slot Thomas will usually find the D with space to walk in and shoot.

Each team is only required to have 8 days off total but yeah, digging in I can see that there are a handful of teams that have 10+ days off.

They could be called up shortly but with RoR and Buch returning then having Blaus coming as well those are 3 NHL players coming back soon. As well as almost everyone ever besides Toropchenko have to go through waivers.

He certainly made the most for himself based on Armstrong's comments in the zoom call about the trade, his play during his call up made Mikkola all the more expendable to create room for himself.
