Is that even possible? I don't think he knows how to get pissed off. He specializes in being quiet, sheepish smiles and deference.

We'd need to tailor conversion therapy sessions just for him and he'd probably just tell the guys hitting him with cattle prods that Jesus loves them or something. They'd come back and say, "I'm sorry, we can't break him. When we cut him sunshine and rainbows came out and he apologized for making a mess and we got scared and left. Nobody is that nice."

I don't think so. I remember when Stutzle boarded him, busted open his mouth and he didn't do a thing. If he was ever going to respond with physicality, I feel like that would've been the time.

Does getting angry actually improve anyone’s play? I feel like this is a thing fans say, but isn’t really true.
I remember last year Mikolas got pissed at an Ump and his fastball started hitting 3-4MPH faster than his norm. If a player can control himself while pissed he can use it as an advantage, but, if you can't control it you end up taking stupid penalties and end up costing your team.

100% it helps a lot of players. Here’s a famous clip of what a Jaguars’ defensive lineman did before each game:

Plus many of the great athletes like Tom Brady, Michael Jordan, LeBron and those types use ANYTHING to put a chip on their shoulder. Tom Brady was intense as f***, he would be yelling on the sidelines at his team all the time.

This is why you hear athletes talk all the time about all the people that doubted them after they win. They turn that anger from haters into motivation and energy.

Yeah, players are notorious for even creating things in their head to create a chip on their shoulder and get angry about. Kelce after the Chiefs won this recent Super Bowl talked about how doubters in the off-season had them not winning the division and all that. I know other teams in the AFC West made a bunch of moves in that previous off-season and people talked about how strong it was, and the Chiefs lost Hill, but I'm pretty sure the Chiefs were still everyone's pick. They'll see one blog from one random person with 10 followers, and use that as their fuel.

Like Jordan said, "and I took that personally".

And for Blues context, I'll always use that hand pass goal by the Sharks as an example. Losers fold in those situations, and winners overcome. That was a big difference in culture between that club and other Blues teams.

Perunovich to represent USA at IIHF World Championship

Perunovich going to WC. Should be good for him to get some games in. Hopefully he’s still healthy when the tourney ends.

Pretty sure Kapanen is going for Finland too, right?

Wouldn’t be surprised if additional Blues players are announced over the next few days.
I hope he does well and most importantly stays healthy. This tournament is the next best thing with Springfield only having 3 games of a playoff run.

I think Kapanen was going for Finland, not sure if it's been confirmed anywhere.

Kapanen has enlisted for the mandatory army service in Finnish defense forces, but he can apply for a break from the service by competing at top level sports. Thus, seeing Kapanen playing for Finland seems a certainty.

Really? So if he doesn’t play for the National Team they’ll yank him out of the NHL and throw him into the Finnish army?

Is there a link explaining any of this?

They usually do it in the off-season, and they don't have to complete it all at once. Depending on the type of service, it'll determine the amount of time required. I think I saw it has to be completed between ages of 18 and 28.
