Which teams off-season besides the Avs are you all most interested in? I am curious what Verbeek and the Ducks will do, not a whole lot of noise over there but he seems to be off to a good start
Vegas for me. They'll have to do some cap gymnastics to get compliant, and they basically had everything go wrong for them that could go wrong injury wise in the regular season. If they get better health this year, I wonder if we'll see them as top seed in the Pacific or if something is permanently broken in their locker room.

I guess this is purely on each individual player, their lawyer(s) and the Russian military enforcement office, then? Hope it works out. I suspect it will work out better for some than others, depending on politics though.

Leafs felt the pressure to hire a woman in a management role after Vancouver and Montreal did it. Not saying it's a bad hire but we all know why she got hired.

Hire women because they are the best person to apply for the job. Don't hire women because they are women.
I can almost time how fast news like this gets posted before you weigh in with your usual bullshit.

One of the greatest and most decorated hockey players the world has ever seen, who has kept a managerial role the whole time she’s been putting herself through medical school, with years and years of experience in the game at a variety of levels, but sure, she’s just a token hire, right?

They could never be a woman qualified enough to meet your standards.

Edmonton and Vancouver probably.

Philly for the laughs. Sounds like they already struck out on Debrincat.

This is a huge year for Seattle. They have cap space and a relatively weak division. A big signing and some forward depth could make them a playoff team.

Wait until turtle brain finds out that Mike Grier was hired as GM. Jeez. What's the world coming to?

Seattle will be a force in two years
I don't see it. They don't have any top-end talent, they are locked into a disappointing goaltender, and they have Francis and Hakstol as GM and coach. Which difference-making UFA is going to sign with them?

They are way behind Los Angeles and Anaheim in terms of prospect pool.

They don't have anything approaching McDrai, EichStone, or whatever Calgary's top 6 will look post free agency.

Vancouver has a difficult cap situation going forward, but there were playing at a playoff pace under Boudreau.

I think San Jose is pretty much the only team in the Pacific with bleaker medium-term prospects than Seattle.

I assume Bedard

Obviously because I live here but Edmonton's.

They are IMO our biggest threat to more SCF appearances because of 97/29, but the rest of their team is not built well. They have 2 key RFAs and 2 key UFAs they'd like to re-sign on top of figuring out where to trade Puljujarvi and where to find a starting goalie.

All that with limited cap space. It will be interesting to watch unfold. If the summer goes poorly they may well be handing the division to LA/Vegas next season.
Vegas still imo. Edmonton needs more depth or a stud goalie.

Time to rescue Sorokin and find Nuke a Russian pal <3

For San Jose's sake, I hope he's better as a GM than his brother is. The Dolphins always make me cry...

Dude already went on record saying that the Sharks don't need to rebuild. It can't go too well if you ignore what needs to happen.

Might not be his fault though, ownership could just deny any rebuild suggestions.

Well, the Sharks can't really rebuild with those contracts either. IMO they have 4 of the 10 worst contracts in the league on that team in Burns/Vlasic/Couture/Karlsson.

Team is doomed. Nothing they can do.

They can still trade pieces and guarantee to finish right near the basement. Instead they will try to be competitive and make the playoffs.

Guys like EK and Burns aren't interested in a rebuild. They want a chance to compete.

Only way out of this mess is trading them (good luck) or to buy them out. You do that and then enter a looooooooong rebuild.
