Vegas is so going to be under the microscope this year...!
They finally have their mighty #1 Center that gives them their supposed strong center line. But it cost them their soul to get there. I wouldn't be surprised to see them move centers to the wing to compensate their losses :)

Kessel/Pie/Martinez/McNabb/Marchessault are all starting to get up there in age. Stones body is holding on for dear life. While I’m still an Eichel believer it’s been 2 years since he was an elite 1C. They lost one of there better players in Patches.

Vegas just doesn’t worry me. Even if they have a bounce back year. I think Calgary/Edmonton are clearly the much bigger threats.

Went to Vegas recently, first time since the Golden Knights showed up. Also had dinner with one of the locals and he informed me that the Raiders are kind of an afterthought, the Knights are the big draw in town. Even the Aces appear to have a more passionate fanbase than the Raiders, whom I got the distinct impression were being treated as some guys just passing through.

One thing he also added, he bought season tickets, but because he travels a lot for work, he informed them that he would only be able to attend something like 23-30% of the games. They said fine, just sell your tickets through our resale website and not through a third party. He did so, but then before last season he was sent a letter saying his season tix were being revoked because, according to him, it said that he "doesn't represent what it means to be a Golden Knights fan." He finished the story by saying they called him up at the end of THIS season asking if he wanted back in, naturally because they sucked and missed the playoffs, they likely lost some subscribers. He told them to shove it.

What an arrogant f***ing franchise. I hope they have yet another year where they just barely miss and become the new Minnesota Wylde, a team locked in perpetual mediocrity continually claiming and waiving supplementary players with an unsustainable, top-heavy roster.

I missed that too! He's 3 years older than when he played here, too.

@larueskee did you blakmail Julien Brisebois or something?
Cole had another typical Cole season. The Avs spent way more on the third pairing by accumulating a bunch of reserves rather than paying one guy to do the job. Seriously, the Avs paid Ryan Murray 2,000,000 last year for 37 games. I told the board then that Murray was a bust and some actually argued that Murray was better than Cole. Murray signed with the oil can for 750,000k this year. Dude was just one of the Avs many defense used since he left. If you added it all up the Avs spent more on the position and got less. But.. I know this board loves them some spin a rama d men and you all did win the cup so who am I to argue with the results?

I know they are just trying to make an good impression, but f*** fighting in a pre-season game.

In many ways it's more likely someone gets hurt by some idiot trying to make an impression with his fists. I still remember Clarke MacArthur trying to make one last comeback after a number of concussions only to get knocked headfirst into the boards during PRACTICE by that moron Patrick Sieloff. And for some reason the goddamned Sens IIRC kept Sieloff around for quite some time after that. MacArthur never played again.

Kurtis MacDermid would beat the shit out of Ian Cole and that's all that matters.

Damn, that's my wife's birthday, going to be a rough day for her lmao

My wife is from Vegas. Bolded parts are definitely true. She gets so tired of the arrogant VGK fans on her Facebook feed though

The hockey fan in me thought it was pretty cool seeing VGK merchandise both on people and hanging in gift shops, the Avs fan in me felt a tinge of revulsion though. At least no one was dumb enough to wear a goddamned Kolesar jersey.

I know you're joking but I was looking at the latest online auction of jerseys and there are people on there who are definitely made up: Colorado Avalanche

"Rhett Rhinehart"

f*** off
I've actually heard of Rhett Rhinehart before, but no kidding. Dalton Sward. Miles Gendron. There's also an Artem Anisimov, which really seems like they just picked random NHLers from other teams eight years ago.
