Lemieux is towering Jagr and Lindros on shoes while these two are on skates. Damn, that was a huge man with silky hands. Awesome picture.
Huh - I always thought Lindros was the biggest dude of his time. I never realized Mario was that big. Gretzky looks so out of place next to all these dudes.

Pinto is supposedly the hold up in the Sens getting Chychrun? Shane Pinto?

Makes sense. Pinto is a very good prospect.

Chychrun is a 24 year old top four defenseman signed to a good contract for another three years. Sens are clearly trying to win right now with the moves they're making and he can help them now and going forward at a position of need.

I think it's a no-brainer depending on what else the Coyotes might be asking for in the deal.

I’m not saying I wouldn’t. But if you can make a deal without moving him that’s ideal for Ottawa. Stutzle/Norris/Pinto is the ideal C core for Ottawa moving forwards.

I missed that too! He's 3 years older than when he played here, too.

@larueskee did you blakmail Julien Brisebois or something?
Imagine dumping McDonaugh for peanuts and then spending most of that cap on Cole and Myers. McDonaugh was declining so they may have pulled the plug at the right time, but it's how they used his capspace which is questionable.

The (terrible) 8.5M Sergachev contract kicks in next season. This season he makes 4.8M

Pretty sure the plan here was to use to difference between 8.5M and 4.8M on an UFA dman that was willing to sign for only one season, which is why they overpaid for Cole. He was probably the best UFA dman who wanted to do that.

Next year Cole's cap hit is going straight to Sergachev.

Missed because of that fight... the Gaudreau-Johnson-Laine line looked F lethal. People better be placing some Calder bets on Johnson.
Think that might be the most entertaining line in the league. Might have some pretty big gaffes as well, but they’re going to be electric.

There will probably be some gaffes... but the single most underrated part of Johnson's game is his defense. He is a master with his stick and positioning. If he can be good enough on his skates to keep from being overpowered, he can shore up the defensive side quite nicely. Then you have Gaudreau who can transition the puck as well as anybody and both him and Johnson are great at keeping possession. Where Laine is just lurking and waiting to unleash his cannon. Could be the surprise line of the season. Could easily see them all above PPG if it works.
