RIP William Eklund promising career.

Wild are likely praying Fleury isn’t involved in the slightest otherwise they are hurting big time in net if this causes a distraction or Fleury steps away from playing.
It would shock me if MAF was involved. Doesnt seem like something he be caught up in. Upshall and Derek Roy on the other hand.....

Feels like this is just the tip of the iceberg. Seems unlikely this is it, and there will be many others that feel comfortable coming forward now, when they weren't before.

Weird that it there's potentially at least three incicdints all with the WJC team too. Not WC's or any other international tourneys. Something rotten going on there.

I… I don’t even know what to say. This shit is so f***ed uo.

Yeah like I knew just like the rest of the world/other sports there was messed up stuff going on. That they covered things up and let them get away with disgusting shit. That it's been going on forever and guys like Doug Gilmour/Sakic's brother got away with brutal acts.

If I'm being honest I didn't think there was 5+ player gang rapes taking place. I played hockey and know there's toxic elements to the culture but this feels like an entirely different level, no? Like beyond what you see in other sports. Between both teams that's 15 guys who participated in gang rape. What's the normal roster size? like 22 players. This is going to blow up big time and rightfully so.

The players are older in the WC teams so you would think that they have matured by then and hopefully capable of making better life choices.

What is wrong with those kids? Just sick.

With junior hockey being as big as it is in Canada, making celebrities out of 16-20 year old men, I have to imagine it can create an environment where they feel they can get away with things and obviously for the longest time have.

The sad part is it's not just junior hockey. Even down to the minor hockey ranks the rep players think they can get away with murder when it comes to women.

This, plus even if one gets this dumb idea, there are older players around who tell him that it's stupid.

You would hope they have matured, but the culture still exists to an extent. I remember hearing this microphone pickup of Adam Gaudette skating off the ice post game when i was watching the recent 2022 WC.

Did all the shitty cheap teams in the league collude to refuse to take on salary and squeeze the FA market? Still 2 teams under the floor, Buffalo is 1m over, then another 6 teams with 10m+ in space. Just not understanding why it’s so tough to move a player like Bjorkstrand?

One thought I’ve had is that teams are waiting out those who are most over, namely Tampa. Perhaps they believe the market eventually softens but it’s costly to move salary at the moment and teams feel Tampa should make the first move since they’re the most over?

I think it's a bit of both. The cap crunch has given the teams near the floor more power than usual and I have to think teams like Tampa aren't willing to budge on moving cap space for middle round picks. Everyone is kind of stuck until someone makes the first move.

We might see things come out of regular Major Junior teams also.

I understand it was an attractive offer for Calgary given how good Huberdeau has been, but it's really scary when they players you got are pending UFAs. Perhaps they can lock them up early. Hard to trade players at trade deadline if you are still in the playoff race.

Honestly I hate what they have done. Team looks way worse. They've added Tkachuk, fine. But they have lost Huberdeau, Weegar, Giroux, and man I think Owen Tippett is a fantastic forward for any team trying to compete.

Zito is just not that good. I'm so glad we have the group we do making good moves for now and long term.

Florida has pissed away a ridiculous amount of assets in a few months, absolutely terrible asset management. Despite all that the roster is still over the cap and does not have a Dcore capable of going all the way.

They paid a lot for the rentals, but I understand it. They had a good shot at the cup.

The Bob contract has finally caught up to them.

Nice to have 2 of the top 8 fastest guys in the league. I knew Byram was fast but didn’t realize that fast.

6'4"" 215 lb Lawson Crouse flying at 24.4 MPH is terrifying. Same with Tuch. Those are big dudes skating real fast.
