This kinda blows my mind

The first in <checks math> 27 years?!?!

The damage Marc Bergevin wrought (I know it wasn't all him) wrought on that organization has yet to be measured.

That's what happens when you refuse to rebuild.
It's more than that, Bergevin not only refused to rebuild, he also refused to go for it, just kinda hovered there in the middle. Wouldn't tear it down, wouldn't utilize cap space to improve his roster. Wasted so many years of some really good hockey players.

The more details come out about the whole Boeser debacle the other night the more respect I lose for Bruce Boudreau. Seems like it doesn't matter who's in charge, the clumsy mishandling of players continues in Vancouver.

Absolutely THRILLED to hear both Barbashev and Binnington combined their idiocy to let the Rangers get the insurance goal. Eff both of those guys.

What's the story?
His father, Duke, passed away in May from cancer and also suffered from Parkinson’s, dementia, and a traumatic brain injury (sheesh, poor guy). It very deeply affected Brock and he broke down during a presser when asked about his father’s health not long before Duke died.

So on Hockey Fights Cancer night in Vancouver, a night when he’d be wearing a lavender warmup jersey with his father’s name on it, the Canucks were going to make him a healthy scratch. The only thing that prevented that was Dakota Joshua getting injured right beforehand and was unable to go. Even NHL Network, who tend to avoid any sort of criticism of team conduct, called them out on it.

It’s just crazy how, no matter who’s in charge of the Canucks, stupid, easily-avoided shit like this keeps happening. The dysfunction in that franchise is rampant and points at the problem being at the very top.
