Also, the SN crew just called out Naz for his shot inaccuracy, which is definitely something I remember him doing a lot EXCEPT last season. For some reason last year he was Luke Skywalker at the Death Star with both his shooting and passing, a huge reason why he blew his previous career totals out of the water.

Also, he killed a rush up the ice because he was too quick across the blue line. That is definitely one of very few things I do NOT miss about Kadri. Only guy who does that anywhere near as much is effin’ Mikko.

Verbeek said he’s going to wait until the end of the season to fire Eakins. He shouldn’t wait that long.

Also whoever is designing uniforms for the Ducks is the absolute worst in the league. I thought the Mighty Ducks RR with the current orange and black color scheme looked fine but then they had to wear them with orange pants!? They look like they’re wearing knickers that go up to their chests!

Yeah, I think those still look fine, but those guys just can't seem to get it right.

Yzerman had a chance to fire Blashill after the end of last season, he apparently didn’t because he felt Blash was still developing talent well. And that’s fine, they waited, couple key players had breakout seasons, and when it was time to take the next step, Yzerman swung the axe.

My concern if I’m a Ducks fan is if talent development has stalled. Sure feels like it has. No coach is gonna swoop in and save the season, but I think Verbeek has to ask if not going with an interim guy to finish things out is gonna make things worse long term.

I feel bad for Eakins, because he’s a really smart guy and very good coach at the AHL level who’s never gotten an actual good team in the NHL to coach. That said, I don’t think his approach appears to work in the NHL.
