2022-2023 Around The League

I'd be perfectly fine with taking him back, but that contract is going to make it hard for him to find a favorable landing spot at this point. My guess is Arizona. I wonder if he clears waivers if he'll end up in Iowa, or if he'd even report there. If he refuses a minor league assignment does anything change with his contract?
I would be shocked beyond belief if Jost refused to report.

I think there’s more than a good chance he clears.

Now that we talking about kraken goaltending, does anyone know what happened to Dridger? Is he still in the league?
Suffered a major injury at the Worlds. He’s still with the team, was sighted recently visiting a school.

I don't think he'd do that either, but I was trying to cover all the ways it could go. I don't expect him to ever wear an Avs uni again, but he was loved in the locker room so who knows. Ironically with all the injuries he'd be useful here right now. He'd be a ghost by January though.

Is there a percentage that players are told will probably end up being their take-home, actual money?

When Jost signed his 2 million per year contract (I think that's what it was) did he have agents/business advisors telling him it sounds like a lot but he'll be lucky to see, what, 35-40 percent of that? Is it kind of common knowledge between players what the range is that players actually get to see?
Yeah that’s probably close. Each country and state has differences.

From my understanding, that is the plan. However, Wright and Kraken don't want him back at Kingston, and Kingston can't trade him until January or something like that. Friedman and Marek talked about it some time ago.

What really is the problem, is the stupid rule that prevents CHL players from being sent to the AHL. And I bet the GMs want that changed at some point. A lot of players could use some maturing in the lower leagues, because playing in the NHL is not actually benefitial for their development. Lafreniere is another example.

Yes, some kind of an exemption process would be nice. Maybe if a player is a top 10 pick and meets some other criteria as well. One exemption per team per year. CHL would not like it but they can't like the optics of what is going on with Wright ATM either.

The rules should be the same for everyone regardless of where they played junior hockey.

They could use the occasion to close the NCAA UFA loophole while they are at it. If they didn't have a good enough reason to do it before, Adam Fox changes things now.

Flames literally lost a franchise defenseman because of it. They should be really pissed off.

The Devils arent just winning they are beating the shit out of teams on this run and today they got scoring from depth players Haula, Bastian, Boqvist, Mcleod. Sharangovich isnt really a depth guy but he scored today aswell. Impressive. Looks like they carried their momentum from last season into this one. The Avs getting shutout to them doesnt look so bad now.

The Devils will never lose another game this year. They even have a stud goalie prospect. Another late round gem.
Which one? Akira?

Yup, Akira and I just realized they have Daws too. Jeez, how did they get so much depth... I see a guy with a lot of raw potential and size to boot in Akira. Devils might've found a good one in him.
