Noooooooo thank you on Blackwood. The way he's carried himself both on and off the ice make that a complete non-starter. At least be good if you're going to be a whiny pain in the ass.

We know Frankie will not be the starter. We'll see what happens but I don't think Joe will be short a starting goalie at the beginning of next season.
Going to be Varlamov. One year, 5M AAV. Perfect for Joe.

Driedger. Should be cheap to acquire, and $3.5m x2 is in Sakic's comfort zone for a starting goalie (as per Grubauer $3.33mx3 and Kuemper $3.5m x1).
I don't think he'd want to go with Driedger for Mackinnon's last run at the cup with this contract...but I could see him doing it with Varly.

Also Isles will want to dump that contract.

So...the Edmonton mascot then.

At this point, Manson hasn't shown anything to sujest we should give him an extension, much less at a 4M cap hit.

Manson is -4 in 8 GP, so yeah he has contributed to some bad goals against. But his size is appealing in the Playoffs

There's no way he gets that much IMO. If 7 or more he gets no more than 4 years.
You wouldn't think, but some teams are quite desperate. Kevin Hayes got 7 x 7 and his career high was 49 points. There will be a bidding war for Kadri.

Yes but Hayes was 27 when he signed for 7 years while Kadri will turn 32 a month into next season.

That's a huge difference there for 7 years. One is signed until he's 34, the other until he's nearly 39.

Kadri isnt getting 7 years, but he’ll get more than $7mil. Quote me on that. He’ll also get more than 4 years

It would be great to keep kuemper, he has been solid for us. I dont think we can truely assess him until the playoffs though. The one guy I would love to somehow get back would be varlomov. He was so good for us when he was here and I would love for him to be able to win a cup with the boys.

We've ripped on Grubauer being a tire fire in Seattle. Driedger has been just as bad if not worse for Seattle. Do not want anything to do with him.

He's been quite a bit better then Grubauer though. Like not even close between the two, Grubauer averages over -0.5 GSAA per game more then Driedger.

That said I agree Driedger isn't the solution either. Next year is probably our last major kick at the can before the Mack extension kicks in... Cant be wasting that on a below average starter.

The goalie market is kind of ugly next summer though. In terms of clear starting goalies, you've got Kuemper, maybe Fleury(I think he might have 1 more run in him), Campbell.... That's pretty much it right now.

If the Blues let him go, Ville Husso is an intriguing option but not an established starter either.

Just re-sign Kuemper and spend those other assets elsewhere. Lots of holes to fill this off-season and the FA class doesn’t look great.
