I have serious doubts about Slaf's hockey IQ, but f*** it. Welcome aboard I guess, and I hope he turns into the next Jagr cause we desperately need high end talent lol. Least the org has balls.

I thought Wright was the pick but I will always cheer for the Habs. I am 100% behind Slaf, I hope he hits his potential. After adding him and Dach, it’s a 6’5” winger and 6’4” Center

We get a real good player here, but thought we should have picked the C...................but 3 teams passed on Wright? Why?
Anyhow, this Slaf kid is huge, and confident..............

I'm kind of concerned that it feels like Slaf moved up because of Wright's stock dropping instead of the other way around. It makes me feel like there were no first overall-worthy options and we're about to get Yakupov'd.

When you hear Wright speak he seems so awkward. When big Slafkovsky spoke, you couldn't help but feel the enthusiasm and energy.

I'm trying to get myself excited about this pick.

I mean he was the #1 prospect on plenty of lists...so that's something.

Trying...

This is the NHL not Toastmasters.
But positive energy and enthusiasm is something that other players feed off and I can't see many players want to play with a guy like Wright who doesn't seem to care and gives off the energy of wet bread

Just listening to the interviews, liked what I heard from Slaf. Sounds mature and he'll need to be to have a chance in this market. I got the sense that he has a better chance to succeed here then Wright. Got the sense all the pressure and scrutiny of the last few years has worn Wright down some. Maybe the best thing for him to go to a less pressurized market.
