Here is the problem. What are the better arms, and what he thinks are the better arms are 2 different things. One good news if the second game is close Montoyo has all of his better arms available.
He should've been fired awhile ago. When do Shatkins start deserving some criticism for keeping him around? If the Golden Knights can send Gallant to the airport in a Taxi on a roadtrip, the Jays can fire their manager in the middle of a doubleheader.

well any decision has the potential to go right or wrong. But with a good process for making decisions, you can get more right than you get wrong. I don't think anyone can say Montoyo makes his decisions in a calculated way, and they blow up in his face way too often. It's really frustrating to see a good team lose more than they should thanks to his dumb decisionsSometimes you need to be lucky to be right, but Montoyo galaxy brains every bullpen decision in virtually every game.
I get he's a good guy and the team seems to really like him, but management needs to take away his bullpen decisions. It's bordering on insanity at this point where THIS many games can be attributed to an awful manager bullpen call.
Is it bad that I'm just numb to Montoyo stupidity by now? I don't even get mad, just say "Oh he's bringing Thornton in? ok whatever"
I wonder why they targeted him. He's fairly old school. Like, who tells non-pitchers to bunt on two strikes!
Game 2, let's get a split on the day. Win in spite of Montoyo![]()
lolEvery time a Jay crosses the plate they should look into the dugout and flip Montoyo off.
if that is the case then they must look elsewhere this offseason to find a guy who can take this team to the next level. He came from the Rays, who are the poster-child org for thinking outside the box and IIRC when he was hired he said all the right things about not being married to traditionalist thinking and doing things simply because that's how they've always been done.
Kinda makes him out to be one of those people that skates through interviews by telling the interviewer what they want to hear rather than what they honestly believe.
Also there was some speculation at the time that he may have been plan B for the Jays who were possibly more heavily pursuing Rocco Baldelli before the Twins snapped him up.
I bet Baldelli's regretting that decision now. He could be managing this team rather than the tire fire Twins.

They will need a Maddon to the Cubs boost type of move to get them over the hump
What about Scheinder? Wasn't he the guy who lead NH to a league title with all these kids? I hear good things about it.
I’m sick of grichuk
