It was actually pretty good last year.year after year we can never get the bullpen right, its baffling how we can never find the right mix.

I think they were hoping things could hold until Merryweather and Pearson came back. Probably still not a good strategy though, considering both are injury prone and one of them doesn’t even have a lot of MLB experience. They didn't get relievers who can throw hard when the whole game is about velocity.
There's a reason both him and Richards were basically free (and of course Adams becomes Mike Piazza against us this series too).
It was a fine add. But it's clear that he hasn't had it with us, and yet we still use him in crucial moments of the game. That's the bigger issue

Also it’s hilarious that they refuse to put Hatch back into the bullpen.

I don't think it's that surprising. We don't spend any money in the pen so we cobble together a bunch of question marks hoping that we get lucky there every year.
'Ridiculous' would probably be a better description. And that one isn't on Montoyo.
Makes zero sense. The bullpen sucks and they aren't using an effective piece from last year. They want to keep him stretched out just in case. Well there has been a need for months in the pen, not much in the rotation.
Who do we blame for Charlie? They deserve blame, but I don't trust Charlie to use his BP properly even if it was good.
We can blame management if they don't fire him this off season.Who do we blame for Charlie?
he is not going to fire himself?
