I'm not *against* re-signing him per se but you have be careful that you're paying a guy for what he's going to do going forward and not what he did in the past.

Semien has been awesome this year. But he's a 31 y/o middle infielder - in a sport that's increasingly a young man's game - with some alarming trends in his K:BB ratios which is normally the sign of an inclement dropoff. If it's going to take 5 years/$120 million or something to keep him ... walking away might be the smart move.
