While there's definitely reason for concern, this is also a good example of why it's important to be patient with relievers with good track records: those July stats consist of 6.2 innings. They were awful, but still...

You always take the good with the bad with proven closers. Romano doesnt have a ton of innings under his belt, but he's the designated closer and that's not changing anytime soon.

really it wont be matz has shit the bed since his dominant start of the season in comparison to stripling who after his first 5 starts has been lights out.

but its a damn good problem to have. considering most of us were trying to figure out who the 4th and 5th would be. let alone the 6th lol

may he had a 5.11 era, at the end of june he had a 4.27 era, at the end of july he had a 4.75 era.

imo like matz hes been up and down but always relatively mediocre(fine for 5th starter tho) and both seem to have had a very good 5 - 6 game stretch and a pretty awful 5 - 6 game stretch.
