None of this could even reach the possibility if Panik was here.If Cleveland gets out there and scores 1 run this inning and then 6 runs next inning they'll only be trailing by a single run! Gotta shut that down before it gets out of hand. So Richards now, Cimber next inning, Romano in the 9th.
Charlie playing the 6.5D chess.
Wouldnt be opposed to piggy backing both every fifth day. Stripling starts, Matz takes the back half.It kinda does. One of him and Stripling is likely to lose their spot sooner or later. And right now Stripling has the inside track.
Montoyo has legit cost this team a comfortable lead in the Wild Card race. He's probably solely responsible for like a 6 win swing. If Cleveland gets out there and scores 1 run this inning and then 6 runs next inning they'll only be trailing by a single run! Montoyo using Richards in a 8-0 blowout. Nice.![]()
I think this is overemphasized, generally speaking. It's not like they can't throw side sessions to keep their arms ready.Ehhh ... Richards has only pitched once in the last 9 days, probably fair to give him some work.
*this is not to defend Montoyo's bullpen handling generally.

Fair point, I just feel like it’ll come back to bite them at some point in the Boston series when Richards is unavailable for a game.Is it really the same though? He looked rusty, uncharacteristically poor control.
Feel for Saucedo who got Babip'ed hard there on a series of routine grounders finding holes and a broken-bat blooper.
Pat sounds pretty bitter about that lol.
