Buck is such a moronic, old school guy. As if Ohtani can make the Angels a playoff team on his own. If you're pinning your playoff Hope's on one single player in baseball, you're doing it wrong.
Meh let's not over reach here. Bringing Merryweather in while they're down by 3 against the Twins bottom of the order isn't a bad idea. Dont want to waste your top arms and I'd prefer not to see Soria again.Montoya gif?
Plus Pat said he's got big, strong hands. He's a triple threat. Wins, RBI's and strong hands. The real triple crown.Buck should love Ohtani. Because he's the only player in the league that's collecting Wins and RBIs. That makes him, like, doubly valuable.![]()

He has no point. It's a ridiculous argument. He's a Cy Young candidate and one of the best hitters in baseball. How many players have done what Ohtani has done? The argument that a player isn't an MVP because their team missed the playoffs is ridiculous to me.I think his point is that Ohtani's impact has been overstated. He's the front runner, but we aren't talking a 10 WAR nightmare on both sides.

He's definitely a candidate. I never said he'd win. He won't because of the lack of innings. Nonetheless, you cannot make the argument to me that he's undeserving of the MVP. What else could he do to make his team better? He's not close to a Cy Young candidate. It would be arguable if he had more innings. You gotta pitch to be a candidate.
Buck going off about Pearson
