Robot umps can't come soon enough. How the MLB continues to allow call balls/strikes is outstanding. It ruins the game.

What a f***ING TERRIBLE UMP!
A damn embarrassing display and the league should throw his ass out of the game for an early retirement.
The worst part of all of this is that they can't. the Umpires' union has basically set it up that the only power MLB has over its officials is the naming of crews for the playoffs. They can't fine, suspend, or press an umpire into retirement because the union won't allow it.
The Trop was built on the remains of a desecrated church which was built on the site of a grisly mass murder which occurred on land that was once an ancient burial ground where many centuries before it was a temple of the dark arts because deep below the earth rests a portal to the blackest hell dimension.
Get rid of them. Hire new umpires. Computers have basically taken over a good portion of their job.

The union would likely rain hellfire down on MLB, dragging them into court demanding that they can't replace everyone because not everyone sucks, but if they try to replace some umps but not all of them it violates the union's mandate.
MLB pretty much allowed themselves to get into this position, though they kind of had to because officials have to remain distanced, unhindered, and impartial with respect to the league in order to protect that impartiality.
What was Jake Lamb gonna do anyway.
The umpires union is exactly what's wrong with unions, and I'm pro-union. The protection of useless employees who are an anchor but are as untouchable as a made man in the mafia. The union would likely rain hellfire down on MLB, dragging them into court demanding that they can't replace everyone because not everyone sucks, but if they try to replace some umps but not all of them it violates the union's mandate.
