Atkins needs to DFA Thornton and bring up Hatch so Montoyo can’t use Thornton.

In Charlie's defense its the best time to bring Thornton in if you have to use him, facing 7, 8, 9.

Although tbh between Hand and Thornton, Thornton is probably the better choice lmao.

take half a second to make a more accurate throw and he's out
Remember that throw the other day to home plate? The thing is, Gurriel has a strong arm, he just rushes everything. You watch Teo or Springer, those guys take a second to crow hop or get the weight on their back leg and throw. Gurriel tries to be all arm at times, like Bo.

LMAO Thornton got insanely lucky there. Three of those pitches were right down the middle.

Less than 30 people also hit 499, and 501.

500 itself doesnt matter.

But round numbers are more memorable. People aren't going to celebrate more random numbers, and they're not going to celebrate every number. If you have to pick a particular milestone that's going to be representative of "this is a big deal and deserves our attention" a round number makes sense for a variety of reasons. That imparts greater meaning onto it.

If we start arguing that round numbers don't matter because they're somewhat arbitrary, then the reality becomes that it's an easy jump to suggesting that no number matters for one or more of several reasons (the aforementioned arbitrary nature, the fact that it doesn't necessarily fit into a specific historical context, the potential that someone else is going to pass it later on, etc.). I mean we might as well not celebrate Cabrera because Mike Trout is likely to pass him in the next 5-8 years and render his achievement less relevant.

Anyone notice that theres something wrong with the k zone graphic today? Plenty of properly called strikes that look 2 inches outside.

I wonder if they're having issues with the system. I seem to recall it not even being turned on for some or all of one of the other games in this series (I think the Friday game).

Like maybe something knocked the tracker/camera out of alignment or something? Gotta send an intern out on whatever ledge it's attached so he can whack it into place with a stick.
