Sillinger, Cossa or Morrow are my bets! That's if they even keep the pick or anyone of the big names fall.....

It seems to me that one of Edvinsson, Clarke, Hughes, Johnson will be there for us. And I'd be happy with any of them. Sillinger would be solid too. I assume the top 7 will be two or three of the guys I listed. Plus Power, Beniers, Guenther, Eklund, Mactavish

It seems like if a Goalie goes ahead of us or even to us it might be Cossa thats the guy and not Wallstedt.

Powers - massive all around Dman with good skating

Beniers - pivot with non stop motor. Mini Toews

Guenther- big offensive winger w high IQ

Eklund - smaller Guenther with great 2 way game

Hughes - trajectory is massive

Edvinsson- tools are their, is the brain?

Clarke - pure offense right side Dman

Johnson - projects as offensive high skill winger

McTavish - big skilled center, can play wing, has some bite

Wallstedt- projects to be franchise goalie

It is guaranteed that we land one of these prospects. Each one of them feels a need. Can’t wait to see who we pick

Thanks - good article. Hoping one of these drops to 8: McTavish, Guenther or Clarke.
I see 3 top D: Hughes, Clarke, Power. 4 top F: Beniers, Eklund, McTavish, Guenther. That's 7. Problem is, Kings pick 8th.
I want one of those 7 and not one of the next tier: Johnson, Edvinsson, Lucius, Sillinger, Wallstedt, Cossa, Lysell, Lambos, Coronato.
Not that some of those will be good NHL players...I just prefer one of the 7. If one of the others (Edvinsson, Wallstedt, Johnson?)
goes in top 7, one of my 7 drops to the Kings. But watch Yannetti go for someone else. And I suppose he would be correct.

If none of the D drop I would not be opposed to seeing if anyone is willing to move up a in the 9-15 range for a good price. Draft Cossa or Wallstedt. One it most likely there and would not be upset if picked 8th

We should not abandon BPA with our first pick, if the dman we like isn't there it means someone else slipped. We might not have a high profile prospect at D but I think we have quite a bit of depth there. I also think some of the D prospects that might be there with our second round pick are very interesting.

I think the top three skater prospects in this draft are Johnson, Eklund and Beniers. Beniers will almost for sure be gone, but if Johnson or Eklund are there Blake should make that pick with a ski mask on.

I also see the value in snagging one of Cossa or Wallstedt at 8. Even though that's not the route I would go. But snagging our future #1 goalie fills a big future need and the way people talk about these two goalies seems like they are very worthy of a pick that high. And it's hard to argue with their production.

2000 - Rick Dipietro - 1st
2001 - Pascal Leclaire - 8th
2002 - Kari Lehtonen - 2nd
2003 - Marc-Andre Fleury - 1st
2004 - Al Montoya - 6th
2005 - Carey Price - 5th
2006 - Jonathan Bernier - 11th
2008 - Chet Pickard - 18th
2010 - Jack Campbell - 11th
2012 - Andre Vasilevskiy - 19th
2015 - Ilya Samsonov - 22nd
2017 - Jake Oettinger - 26th
2019 - Spencer Knight - 13th
2020 - Yaroslav Askarov - 11th

Some great ones, some not so great ones when it comes to 1st round goalies. A goalie being picked 8th would be the earliest pick since Carey Price. If that's the route they go it better pay off.

I'd argue for Red Savage myself. Not sure if I was on the marketing team if I'd go with a Randy Savage thing or a Wonder Years theme.

I was very disappointed to find out his full name was "Redmond," but then happy again to find out it's Brian Savage's kid, I loved his game

McKenzie's final list/survey: Owen Power pulls away from crowded NHL Draft field - TSN.ca

I watched a few minutes on the stream and I think I heard them allude to 2-9 being wide open.

If there’s virtually no separation on our list between Beniers, Edvinsson, Eklund, McTavish and Guenther, any one of Clarke, Hughes or Johnson could break into the Top 5 and supplant any of the top five prospects behind Power. It’s that tight.

This draft is so weird... we are less than a week away from the draft and McKenzie has Hughes dropping to us @ 8.
