Risto is such a Flyer... they are gonna love him. I'm sad we didn't get him, but happy not to have given up that much...
Market makes no sense right now.
Schmidt probably goes the other way in the OEL deal
Jim Benning did well... Traded almost all his bad contracts and got an overpaid but ul defenceman and a good winger.
It once again shows their urgency to win now.
Whether they are moving too quickly is another topic, but I think they have now traded their first round draft pick in two of the last three years.
The ship out the first along with Beagle, Eriksson and Roussel,Yotes retain 1.2 million and there's more to the deal
Yes but I hope we don’t spend any of it on anyone! Keep it for Molson!Cap space is more valuable than ever...
I dare say hes a legit top 2D , based on playing them 9 times this year , he'll help them a lot. he's swedish for the Petersson connection. The ship out the first along with Beagle, Eriksson and Roussel,
and get a top-4 D and and a 2nd liner.
Very good deal. Some team wouldve asked for the first straight up to take all that dead cap, but Van added nice pieces. Excellent deal.

I just want to say this....and I will surely be wrong...but Pastujov is one of the few prospects that I won't be thrilled about. If you have to find a player that might not see his talent being translated to the NHL....for me....it's him. Skating isn't good. And frankly, most plays that I see him do is not at high speed. There's a limit to be able to slow down the play. It's not about that for him. It's just missing a key speed to how he thinks the game. AT least, from what I saw. We will see. It's the US...so I wouldn't be surprised to see him be taken.
Yeah it’s a weird draft for sure. Rumoured quality indicates low end prospects, we pick 30th and OHL/WHL with low to no exposure.

Most of the Vancouver board hates it, something about giving up one more year of cap hell in exchange for 5 lol.Jim Benning did well... Traded almost all his bad contracts and got an overpaid but useful defenceman and a good winger.
would you take a bad contract for a top 10 pick?
