I think the market will dictate.. MB really only loses one for one trades like Drouin for Sergachev.. he definitely has a price he will pay and won't chase if it goes beyond that.

I'm not even sure he's traded a single prospect since that trade which is sort of interesting as well.

Would have loved Buchnevich. And at that price it's kinda sad that we didn't match that.

I don't think this is so much a value trade. Seems more like NYR had a guy that they liked, an upcoming contract they couldn't commit to, and made a trade. We've got nothing like Blais apart from Anderson.

Huge miss by Bergy here

Lehks beats Blais in my view. Buch huge upgrade and our depth goes through the roof. Bad miss is right. Rags got ripped badly here, we could have beaten the Blues offer and still been miles ahead. WTH

Distracted by Savard, Hoffman????

Well Anderson does it SUBSTANTIALLY better. Blais is a 4th liner.

Anderson is definitely better, they can just fill a similar role. Blais is a middle-six player that can be a good physical complement to some of NYRs skilled players. Has had two really good years and will be an interesting addition to the Rangers. He's a rare type and every team wants one - we were looking for one every year before we got Anderson. He's not just a 3/4th line utility player like Lehkonen, he brings a different dimension.

Distracted by Eichel. Bergevin always is in on the big names but never closes the deal. He wants to play but chickens out. Leaving us with Plan c or plan D

Middle 6 means he can play on the 2nd line. He’s not a 2nd liner unless you have a bad team. He’s nothing more than an energetic 3rd liner.

Middle 6 means he can play top 6 at times and unless you are tanking, Blais should never be in the top 6

except last year with the covid cap crunch - but I think with Seattle bringing more money into the system, those days are over.

Pacioretty for Suzuki was another big, big move.

But yeah, I'm not holding my breath that he has more in him. I'm hoping for Savard, DeAngelo/Martinez/Schmidt, a mid level top six forward, and a vet C.

I think he's a fine guy to have the on NYRs second line if it came to it. He can keep up with skilled players and brings a lot more than just scoring. Teams like complementary players, he'd never be the centerpiece of a 2nd line but he adds something if he's played there.

Jake Bean available for a 2nd pick?

Damn, give our 31st overall and get Bean, its what the doctor ordered!

Ha amazing! It will be fun to watch them and find out who the best one turns out to be in the end. Certainly legitimizes the Farrell hype. He had almost 20 points more than any of them and is only months older than some of them... he is a full year older than Coronato though... still...

well before he got injured many on the prospect board were divided between who was better between Coronato and Samoskevich and they were both seen as possible 1st round picks. Farrell is a year older then both. The next best imo is Ufko who just turned 18 in May. I like him a lot as well, would be very happy if we get any of the 3. Then there's Doan's kid who was passed over in last years draft but I fully expect him to get picked this year. He played a good bit with Farrell and that's when his numbers took off so I wouldn't be that interested. The last one is Jack Bar who wasn't there early in the season when I saw the bulk of their games so I didn't get to see much of him. I liked what I saw and he's going to be joining Farrell and Coronato at Harvard next year. I like what I saw from him but not in the 2nd round where he's not talked at going as I would need to see more offensive upside to take him that high although again I didn't see much of him.
