Just watching some Luke Hughes video, and he moves a lot like Quinn, but at 6'2". Given the uncertainty of this draft, organizations must be looking at the very strong pedigree of the Hughes brothers as part of the decision making process. I think he could very well go 1st overall. Maybe this is the year the Canucks finally win the lottery. Very intriguing prospect to have a bigger stronger Quinn Hughes.

I dont personally see him moving quite like quinn hughes. Luke looks a bit less dynamic, but more stay at home. If people or the team thinks luke is the bpa so be it, but i hope its not people focusing on the pointless brother angle.

To me currently people are going to get side tracked again taking a D because our D is garbage, yet our forwards could still use help. To me the two best players in this draft currently are berniers and eklund. I will dig a bit more into the D prospects see if anyone stands out more then they did in initial viewings. Some looks solid, but nobody really blew me away.

I dont know what our cap situation will be, I would like to see us free up some dead weight, but there are some good potential free agent D options as well this summer such as jamie Oleksiak. He has been good as heiskanens partner. I cant imagine him commanding a huge amount of money either, he currently makes around 2mil.

Stay away from Edvinsson, looked really bad against Latvia and USA. Big, skates well, but he doesn't scare teams when he has the puck on his stick. Rather take Hughes, Power and Clarke. Also there’s better value in the 2nd-4th round.

Stromgren, Rosen, Robertsson are draftable, they have some NHL calibre attributes and skating ability.

if we stay in the 7-10 range and if Hughes Clarke and Power are gone..... I would trade down to get Lambos and a pick around 20-35

Ottawa
With their win last night LA moves ahead of us in pts% moving us from 9th to 8th worst. The teams directly behind us, SJ (OTL) and OTT (W), also both got points last night.

Looking more and more like the 4-6 range.

Expecting Buffalo, NJ, and Anheim to finish below and 1 or both of Columbus and Detroit. Then the lottery.

I’d look more at Ceulmans if they traded down to the late teens. AZ moved pick 45 to move up 3 spots from like 14/15 to 11/12 in 2019.

The stars would have to be aligned to get below 6. 4 will be a stretch.

Hope we can get Scott Morrow for the 2nd round, his skating looks incredible and movement around the offensive zone looks incredible. This is starting to look like a great year for defenceman.

Lambos would be gone before 15 I predict, 11-15 is where I think he will go. Hes the #2 that can eat up minutes, mobile and good defensively.

If we're around ~7, I'd hope Eklund is still available. He'd be my choice, assuming that (surely) Beniers, Guenther, Power, and Clark are already selected.

I've kinda waivered on Luke Hughes. He has some of Quinn's elusiveness, but the puck-moving is not quite at the same level.

Might seem like over-drafts, but I think Lucius or McTavish could be good selections at that slot.

Even if he is a winger that gives us the option to move Miller to the 3rd line C

Petey Boeser
Bo Hoglander
Miller Podkolzin/or Guenther

Thats 3 solids lines to sprinkle in Lind, Gad, Pearson and some of the other guys we have

I would much prefer a Dman though
Hughes
Juolevi?
Rathbone?
Schmidt
Myers isn't exactly a D core that doesnt need some major improvements too

This hits the nail on the head as the Canucks really need to add another impact adman and probably another top 4 one as well.

This Miller as 3C thing needs to stop! He's an elite player when on the wing, and merely a decent player when at C. It's nice that he can step in when needed, but he's just way better in his other role. We should be maximizing the value of our players; the drop off in play when Miller switches to C is too big to justify spreading out the scoring. Plus we're leaving Petey and Brock with god knows what, which will have a ripple effect of its own.

Run Miller as Petey's winger, maximize his value to the team and on the market, and trade him next season at peak value if you need to. If we play him at 3C all year, we're left with a 31 year old averaging 50pts per season at the end of his contract. Would much rather be playing or trading a ppg winger than that.

It will never stop. At this point i hope they do so everyone can eat s**t when he is unhappy, demands a trade and puts up abysmal stats.

Who has the highest upside in this draft? I remember asking in the 2019 draft and Zegras was one of the names that came up. Still sour that we missed him by one spot.

Wonder if Luke Hughes injury drops him a couple spots.

You just know the Aquilli’s will do everything in their power to get the Hughes brothers together.

Looks like a top 5 Pick is more likely than not right now, Schedule gets harder and harder, Team has basically nothing to play for now.

With Rathbone looking like a sure top 4 dman, JT Miller bouncing in 2 seasons, by than at least Podkolzin and 2021 first rounder should fill in his shoes. Wouldn't mind a forward, wouldn't mind Eklund or BC boy Johnson either. That guy is a true Canuck fan from the heart.

the weird thing on the Hughes ranking was that when he was playing he was ranked in the 7-10 range. He gets injured. Doesn't play for the longest time and he's all of a sudden a top 4 pick, like wtf is going on here boys.
