Ottawa
9th worst in the NHL in pts%. If we keep on tanking I could see us end up worse than LA, SJ, and OTT for 6th OV. Don't see us catching BUF, ANA, NJ, CBJ. or DET. And then we can screwed by the lottery again.

Clarke is on the top of my wish list.
Watching the u 18 and Clarke kind of skates poorly. This could just be a function of his age, and he’s still growing though. He’s got long, weaker looking legs. Super smart though, and excellent puck skills.

Even if he is a winger that gives us the option to move Miller to the 3rd line C

Petey Boeser
Bo Hoglander
Miller Podkolzin/or Guenther

Thats 3 solids lines to sprinkle in Lind, Gad, Pearson and some of the other guys we have

I would much prefer a Dman though
Hughes
Juolevi?
Rathbone?
Schmidt
Myers isn't exactly a D core that doesnt need some major improvements too
This hits the nail on the head as the Canucks really need to add another impact adman and probably another top 4 one as well.

It was a horrible game to scout the Swedish players but Edvinsson’s play in the Canada game was pretty shocking. Scouting staff better be damn sure if they’re going to take him. Really hoping for one of Clarke/Hughes to slip to our pick.

Yeah, it's very awkward looking. I just value his elite IQ. It also looks more like a mechanical problem than one that can't be fixed.

No reason to plan for Miller to stick around long term.

I wonder if teams are going to be smart enough to leave all of these high ranked dmen in their own leagues in their d+1, despite potentially drafting them 1st or 2nd overall.

What are the needs 3 years from now....

On D
Edler, Myers, Schmidt are all gone or on the way out.

Juolevi, Rathbone, Woo, Hughes project to be in the line-up.

Centers:
Pettersson, Horvat still in prime.
No other centres in system project to play more than replacement level.

Wingers:
Podkolzin, Hoglander, Boeser, Lind, Gadjovich, Lockwood, Motte.
Miller (if he re-signs) will be 31.
Pearson gone.

Goaltending
Demko
DiPietro

Needs (in three years):
Defense:
One or two top four D. Shutdown D-man preferred given that Hughes and Rathbone should be providing offensive.

Centre:
A good 3C.
Centre depth

Wingers:
At least one more top 6 winger.
Winger depth depending on how Lind, Lockwood and Gadjovich develop.

Goaltender:
Depth.

Summary of needs:
1. Top 4 shutdown D man
2. high end 3C
3. Top 6 scoring winger

And it all depends on how the internal group develops and what is reasonably accessible as UFA. Scoring wingers are cheaper than good centers and top 4 D-men.

Edvinsson is a guy to steer clear of as an overdraft. Strikes me as a worse Broberg, and that is not a compliment. Jack Han identified him as someone who will probably be selected too high.

Not a fan at all. Puck management look awful and severely limited offense.

Admit limited viewings..... but some bad videos out there to back it up. Raw to say the least

Power and Hughes are the only D we should be considering top10. Watching the U18s Clarke seems a bit boom bust for me and more of a pp guy. We need minute munching 5v5 studs.

If he's in a higher tier then sure. Would prefer the 2 better skaters

I would say top4 D, top-2nd line center and then centers.
At this rate we need to start to plan for life without Bo. If we draft a good center, won’t hurt having him center the 3rd line for a year or two and then when he’s good enough to replace Bo, Bo’s gonna hit that age where he will drop off anyways.
We just need more picks…. We need to trade Miller and Schmidt.

The Canucks need another D right now the most, but you should take the BPA every time.

I'm glad a few prospects are making good showings at this tournament. The more all the top prospects shine in this tournament the more likely the Canucks will be able to snap up someone good if they draft in the 7-10 range.

While I agree that adding another D is a need... we also need to add another top 9 C if we want to compete asap.

Matt Beniers could be that guy for us, and if we're lucky enough to select him...we could have our top 9 C on lock for the next 5-10 years. As Bo starts to age out of the top 6, Beniers could takeover as the 2C and allow Horvat to transition to our 3C as he approaches 30+.

As for defensemen, I still have Hughes, Clarke, and Power in that order.

Honestly if we arent in the top 6 I think I would prefer trading down and taking shots on guys like Morrow, Cueleman, Zellweger, Stankoven
