WHL scares me. Actually if our WHL scouts says he’s good, then we should do the opposite.
apparently his highly regarded across all 3rd party scouting sources.

Curse of our WHL scouts vs all the other scouts.apparently his highly regarded across all 3rd party scouting sources.
Watching the u 18 and Clarke kind of skates poorly. This could just be a function of his age, and he’s still growing though. He’s got long, weaker looking legs. Super smart though, and excellent puck skills.Clarke is on the top of my wish list.
This hits the nail on the head as the Canucks really need to add another impact adman and probably another top 4 one as well.Even if he is a winger that gives us the option to move Miller to the 3rd line C
Petey Boeser
Bo Hoglander
Miller Podkolzin/or Guenther
Thats 3 solids lines to sprinkle in Lind, Gad, Pearson and some of the other guys we have
I would much prefer a Dman though
Hughes
Juolevi?
Rathbone?
Schmidt
Myers isn't exactly a D core that doesnt need some major improvements too

No reason to plan for Miller to stick around long term.Even if he is a winger that gives us the option to move Miller to the 3rd line C

This. We should be getting younger/ Getting our core to the same age. As much as i like Miller it makes sense to trade him for a younger piece or 1st rounder. No reason to plan for Miller to stick around long term.

It was a horrible game to scout the Swedish players but Edvinsson’s play in the Canada game was pretty shocking. Scouting staff better be damn sure if they’re going to take him. Really hoping for one of Clarke/Hughes to slip to our pick.
Not a fan at all. Puck management look awful and severely limited offense.Edvinsson is a guy to steer clear of as an overdraft. Strikes me as a worse Broberg, and that is not a compliment. Jack Han identified him as someone who will probably be selected too high.
Scott Morrow is really good too.Power, Hughes, Edvidsson, Clarke, or Ceulmans. I'll be ecstatic with any of these picks.
Really getting hyped for Brandt Clarke reading some scouting reports. Looks like he really brings some elite hockey sense, and is a possession demon at the U18s:
Watch him skate, and your excitement will wane.
I would say top4 D, top-2nd line center and then centers. What are the needs 3 years from now....
On D
Edler, Myers, Schmidt are all gone or on the way out.
Juolevi, Rathbone, Woo, Hughes project to be in the line-up.
Centers:
Pettersson, Horvat still in prime.
No other centres in system project to play more than replacement level.
Wingers:
Podkolzin, Hoglander, Boeser, Lind, Gadjovich, Lockwood, Motte.
Miller (if he re-signs) will be 31.
Pearson gone.
Goaltending
Demko
DiPietro
Needs (in three years):
Defense:
One or two top four D. Shutdown D-man preferred given that Hughes and Rathbone should be providing offensive.
Centre:
A good 3C.
Centre depth
Wingers:
At least one more top 6 winger.
Winger depth depending on how Lind, Lockwood and Gadjovich develop.
Goaltender:
Depth.
Summary of needs:
1. Top 4 shutdown D man
2. high end 3C
3. Top 6 scoring winger
And it all depends on how the internal group develops and what is reasonably accessible as UFA. Scoring wingers are cheaper than good centers and top 4 D-men.
Honestly if we arent in the top 6 I think I would prefer trading down and taking shots on guys like Morrow, Cueleman, Zellweger, Stankoven
