"Pinelli played in the Alps League this season. I doubt anyone has seen his games. Footage is hard to come by. McTavish and Othmann played in the 2nd tier of Swiss hockey. Good luck finding a stream there. So yeah, hard to form an opinion on those 2."

Jesus Christ Joey. It was a discussion about people here ranking players. It was never about actual NHL scouts

So, the team by team mock draft is making it's rounds and if the Dallas board doesn't take Wallstedt, he's going to fall to us. I know it has nothing to do with reality but I am curious to see what the voting on this board looks like if he's available.

Take him and don't think twice. And laugh all the way to the bank. Best goalie prospect in the last 25 years.

Again, I don't think anyone in this class is a major hit outside of the potential top-5 and Wallstedt. With that said, it's for depth purposes. No one in this class, ATM, is deemed as a top-line player and certainly not franchise-altering. The only one, ATM, that could be franchise-altering is Wallstedt.

We'll see, but, IMO, it would be worth it to move the pick for an immediate need/help or trade back...
but we dont need anymore franchise altering talents or top line players. I'm fairly confident in our top end talent

We need solid middle6 2 way mules. We're trying to balance out the roster next season and for the future. IMO this draft has that player where we pick. It just so happens team needs and BPA are the same thing this draft class.

I really have not followed this draft much yet. I wasn't aware there was a goalie that damn special in this draft, and if so, how the hell could he fall so far?

How good is he, honestly?

Well, he started in a men's league at 17*. That good.

Honestly, it's prospects, who knows. But the prospects couldn't be brighter.

Many have him at Vasilevsky type level when it's all set and done.

*correction. He played one game at 17. 22 as an 18y old.

In the later rounds, I like these names as well. Should throw in Josh Doan, too.

As for L'Heureux I feel you could trade down from No. 15 into the 20's, grab a 2nd, and still be able to come away with L'Heureux. Be warned though, he has some incidences on his name that might not bode well long-term for the organization.
Boston is at 21(20). If they want L’Heureux and he’s still on the board at 15 what would it take from them? I don’t think they have a 2021 2nd or 3rd to go along with their first.

Is that a generally accepted claim? Pronman or whoever recently posted his final rankings didn't even have Wallstedt the top goalie in his class!

Lol, Pronman’s rankings should never be taken that literally. He’s absolutely terrible at evaluating translatable talent, and his rankings should be used more as a guide to dive more into prospects on your own time. The best list - and closest to actual reality - will always be McKenzie’s rankings

what the heck is this?
are these acronyms some folks commonly use?
when did these boards require a secret handshake?

TWF 2way Forward?
PWF power Forward?
just guessing ..

I read Pronman on this.

he is basically dinging Wallstedt because his positioning is so good he doesn’t have to make overly athletic saves. He likes Cossa better because he is bigger and flashier.

I’ll take the goalie with the immaculate positioning

I like Cossa, he's got the size he's got the athleticism and he's also very mature on and off the ice very much like a Spencer Knight.

But Wallstreet is also a big goalie and he does have excellent instincts for a guy his age playing against men, you don't see that everyday.

Goalies prospects for me are too complex to judge. If I’m wearing the G.M. cap and Benoît Allaire signed off on him I would take him for the reasons of giving the organization more flexibility in deal making and an insurance policy on Igor.
