Are North American players ghosts in your mind?

No. I would easily pick Beniers, Johnson, Power, Hughes and Clarke over these for instance.

Not a huge fan of Sillinger, haven't seen much of Pinelli or L'Heureux. Doesn't mean they're bad. But wouldn't it make sense if people go with what they know?

I'd be really thrilled if we get a late 1st or early 2nd round pick to get Stankoven or Roulette.

If we land McTavish, Raty or Svechkov at 15, that's a major hit imo. That's pretty lucky timing/placement to fill a need with BPA.

Don't see the need in trading the pick. We have more than enough chips to use, without using our 1st, to upgrade. Keep the revolving door of young value spinning

Again, I don't think anyone in this class is a major hit outside of the potential top-5 and Wallstedt. With that said, it's for depth purposes. No one in this class, ATM, is deemed as a top-line player and certainly not franchise-altering. The only one, ATM, that could be franchise-altering is Wallstedt.

We'll see, but, IMO, it would be worth it to move the pick for an immediate need/help or trade back...

I just don't know how you can be so definitive when it comes to number 15, especially if youve only seen the Europeans.

I love Svech and Chibrikov, but Pinelli or ZHL may make more sense for this team in terms of building an nhl team not just a prospect pool. At 15 we'll have alot of the same talent level to choose from, it's time to start building a team

I'm not sure if you're underselling McTavish here. Albeit the U18, but he had great offensive numbers, showed good puck control.

Don't think of grinder as a bottom-6 option here. Teams can have players that grind at high levels that eventually show their top-6/mid-6 potential. See Callahan, Gallagher, etc. Crosby, too, is a grinder in theory but is also elite everywhere else. I see McTavish in that sense as a grinder (not comparing him to Crosby, but more so Callahan/Gallagher). Relentless, hounding, skillful touches. I don't think he's got a power-forward game, just highly energetic.

Stank Oven - we need that name. I'm on board.

Don't get me wrong, Svech and Chibrikov would be super nice options, but the Rangers do need some depth and power from some big boys (even though Svech is pretty big). I like ZLH, but not at No. 15. I would love for Pinelli at No. 15, however, there could be other options that could be more enticing (including trading out of that spot for immediate needs/depth help). Then there's a guy like Othmann who plays like a big boy, but not as high of an upside offensively.

This draft is going to be real interesting...

Othmann seems to be the flavor of the month right now, should be a big riser. Philly likes risers- Frost, Foerester - Othmann could be their pick if the draft snakes a certain way.

Only Europeans? I watch plenty of WHL games and some QMJHL games on weekends. I've seen a lot of college hockey this year while following guys like Jones, Berard and Ciccolini. The only league I didn't really watch is the USHL because it's almost impossible to find a decent stream.

Pinelli played in the Alps League this season. I doubt anyone has seen his games. Footage is hard to come by. McTavish and Othmann played in the 2nd tier of Swiss hockey. Good luck finding a stream there. So yeah, hard to form an opinion on those 2.

It sucks the OHL was cancelled. It ruined this draft because a lot of players either didn't play at all, or played in leagues without proper TV coverage.

My current wants for who/what could be available at No. 15...

1. Wallstedt (if he drops)
2. Trade the pick for immediate need/help
3. Chibrikov
4. Raty (if he drops)
5. Pinelli
6. Svechkov
7. Lysell (if he drops because of his off-ice antics. If off-ice antics are false, then he'd be gone before this pick)
8. Trade back for L'Heureux, Lambos, Othmann, Stankoven, Dean, Olausson, Klimovich, etc. and get a 2nd.

Keep in mind, this is if McTavish and Lucius go before No. 15. There could also be a real potential that if Clarke falls out of the top-5 he could be a trade-up candidate.

Might want to rethink that one...

As for the OHL, yeah that sucks. But most were able to play elsewhere for the year. Not all is lost in that case.

The SL and AL really don't have decent enough coverage. I wish I could have access to those. It's easier to find footage of the Slovak league, Mestis and Allsvenskan than it is to find Alps League or Swiss league stuff.

That doesn't mean that NHL staffing doesn't have access to them. I'm sure they're doing their homework...

Othmann in a Philly uniform would be a throwback to remembering why we all hate the Flyers to begin with.
