Zachary Bolduc.....he seems intriguing...anyone have any opinions of him?

Rangers were watching him closely heading into this season and he was a candidate under the Gorton regime (though they may have cooled on him a bit).

I've been fairly lukewarm on him for a while now. The talent is there, but the end result often feels like its lacking. You've got plays that go nowhere, and despite talent that should have him near the top of the class, the actual in-game results haven't consistently been there.

He's kind of in the same boat as Raty for me. Based on talent and reputation, I feel like he remains higher than he should be. A team taking either guy is hoping they get a kid for whom the light bulb comes on and provides an excellent ROI.

But if we're taking names and expectations off the table, I feel like Pinelli and Svechkov have been the better prospects this season.

I currently have Svechkov over Pinelli. Both over Raty

Yeah, think that Pinelli has that capability to actually be on a top-6 in the pros, ATM. Svechkov has that bottom-6 mainstay feel, but that would be relied on heavily for the team taking him.

I feel bad for Raty. I truly think he just had a bad season and unfortunately is going to take a fall because of it (maybe not a big fall, but definitely will go in the teens). There was so much that was displayed before covid and this season was quite lackluster. But he still has the agility and wheels to grind like a middle-6 center. Can stickhandle quite well, too.

Raty almost feels like Holloway in the sense that their draft years were a lot to be desired (more so in Raty's case than Holloway's). Filip Forsberg had a similar fall too. We'll see what happens with his selection and further development.

I feel like Powers would still be the pick, or they'd look to trade down.

At this point, If we were in that situation, do we look to trade it for a early-to-mid-20s Center instead of trading down?

I have Svechkov right in the running for the third best center heading into the draft. The smarts are there, the two-way play is there, he should definitely play in the NHL. The question is how much offense is there. Are you looking at a damn good third line center, or a potential top six center? There's some divided opinions there. But he definitely looks like a player.

Raty is an interesting boat for me because I just never quite saw him as a top talent in this draft. God knows I looked and I looked, but I just didn't come away with that take. Right now, I see a guy who could be a very nice bottom six forward. My modest hope would be that he progresses enough to become a tweener and occasionally slide into a top six role as needed. But there's part of me that wonders if this year is really a pothole, or just the type of player he is when viewed in the prism of higher-level talent.

Two months ago, I would've said he was definite candidate for that regime. Now, I'm not so sure. Some of it is potentially philosophical, but some of it could also be the desire to make the first pick count and not necessarily "gamble" with it.

Yeah and having that feeling is well deserved, too. Raty didn't really pull all of the punches, only glimpses at small amounts. I'm hoping it was just a bad year, but we'll see. His trajectory post draft will be one to follow if it does "erupt", in a sense.

I’ve been looking at MacT. Most rankings have him all over.

Anyone have thoughts on Pavel Tyutnev? I had him on my radar last year but he went undrafted.

NHL Mock Draft 2021: Owen Power to Sabres as we pick for every lottery team (and predict trades)

15. New York Rangers: Brennan Othmann, LW, Flint-OHL

I’m certain that new team president/GM Chris Drury would take the best player available at No. 15, especially since that player shouldn’t be expected to arrive at the NHL level for at least a couple of years. That said, the Rangers are overstocked on defense, and heavy on skill-laden forwards they’ve accumulated over the last four years. So I think, all things considered, a forward who plays a hard game – like last year’s second-rounder Will Cuylle – would be ideal. And having said that, I think there’s a better than good chance the Rangers won’t be making this pick, but rather trading it before the draft in a package to fill a need (possibly to Buffalo for Jack Eichel, giving the Sabres two picks in the top 15?). -Rick Carpiniello

I haven't heard much talk about Othmann. Thoughts on him at this spot?

Shoot first winger who plays bigger than his size. Deceptive skater, takes the body along the boards, and will shoot from anywhere on the ice. Decision making with the puck could be better and he puts himself out of position a little too much for me but you hope maturity and good coaching will improve that part of his game.

He deserves to be in the discussion, I like a few others ahead of him, but it wouldn't be out of line if he's the pick.

Matty Beniers accordioned his right leg into the boards while on the forecheck at the WC's, couldn't put any weight on his right leg and had to be helped off the ice.

oof terrible for him
Yikes you hate to see that. Kid worked hard this year and there taking likes he going top 3. Hope he’s ok.

I love reading these threads. You guys a very information on a lot of prospects I don’t get to see much of and others I know very little about. Keep up the good works fellas

Nailed it!! Spot on to what I was gonna say. With that said, though, think he'd be more in line with a later part of the top 20. At No. 15, he's a good get, though.

Like that mock mentions, I also believe they'll trade the pick for an immediate upgrade.

Everyday my opinion changes on whether we'll trade this pick.

Is there a team that wants the number 15 pick for their established player that we covet enough to trade a first-rounder for, and who is that player?
