A dangerous shooter in-close who can get the puck where he needs to. Not afraid to pay the price, definitely has some upside as a support winger.

The overall skill package is good, but not necessarily great. There are a lot of areas in development for him --- skating, keeping his head up on the ice, handling the puck, his ability to adjust to more mobile competition and an ability to generate offense on his own.

To me, he feels more like a later first round pick, maybe a guy who would go in the second round in a draft like 2018-2020. I wouldn't be devastated if we took him at 15, but I would be at least slightly disappointed.

Everyday my opinion changes on whether we'll trade this pick.

Is there a team that wants the number 15 pick for their established player that we covet enough to trade a first-rounder for, and who is that player?

I wouldn't be surprised if they want to see how the FA market shakes out too. The Rangers wish list isn't exactly super long, if they think they can snag a bargain or two they can keep pick and continue to collect assets for if/when they make a monster move.

I am not familiar with him. is he relation to Mike Sillinger who was one of the most underrated players during his era.

What do you guys think about Sillinger? He a viable option at 15?

Yes, he is Mike Sillinger's son. He'd be a viable option, if Svechkov is off the boards, imo.

We need a proper center and Sillinger seems to be projected as a winger.

15. (11) Cole Sillinger (6-0, 190), C, Sioux Falls (USHL) -- Sillinger is a skilled offensive player with a great release, high hockey IQ and excellent vision and playmaking ability. Sillinger opted to play in the United States Hockey League when the WHL paused the start of its season and scored 46 points (24 goals, 22 assists) in 31 games; he's expected to return to Medicine Hat of the WHL next season. The 17-year-old is the son of former NHL forward Mike Sillinger.

A consideration at 15. He projects as a goal-scoring winger and is definitely one of the more natural shooters in this draft (there are a decent number this year).

Diffrent player from his father.

Any chance in hell they're thinking of picking either Wallstedt or Cossa?

I think he is a viable option at No. 15, but I feel he's had a very "juniors" game in the USHL. Dangles a lot, easy shots go in. He's definitely not a center in the league but could carve out a nice middle-6, PP contributor. I do think, though, that there is a bust potential in him, so there's a risk.

And yes, he's Mike Sillinger's son...

I know some of you are gonna hate me for this, but at the very least Wallstedt is a possibility.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go seek shelter.

I would be very happy if that's the case. Not a lot of players jump out at me at No. 15. Just a lot of players that could be middle-pair or bottom-pair. With Wallstedt, you'll almost guarantee yourself a cost-controlled starter while Shesty's contract demands get higher (based on play of course).

Most have to think, too... Shesty will be 26 next season...

I would agree. On pure talent as a shooter, he's definitely in the same conversation as other North American guys like Guenther, Lucius and McTavish. But his style lacks maturity and we haven't quite seen if different elements of his overall game have kept pace with some of the aforementioned names.

While not the popular opinion of many fans, I think Wallstedt's upside coupled with this particular draft makes him an option at 15. It really depends on how the board goes.

It can also be a double-edged sword.

On the one hand, fans are more willing to move the pick because they don't feel this is a particularly strong draft. On the other hand, if it isn't a particularly strong draft you're return could be reflected in that belief.

Just hoping one of the three possible centers who could be there are there (Raty, Svechkov, Pinelli). Grab one, don't rush them and hopefully 2-3 years there is a better than 50/50 shot they become at least a 2c.

I'm happy to roll the dice on Pinelli at 15 and call it a day.

To me he is the cross section pick --- you'll likely be able to make a case for him being BPA at the spot and he fits an organizational need.

He projects as a two-way center, the upside is promising, and he checks a lot of boxes across the board.

I can see Lucius slip a bit cause he had so few games played due to injury. He’s very talented. He might be there if Raty and Svechnikov are already off the board. Not sure where the rangers have him ranked internally though?
