If I remember correctly Duke suffered an injury after getting hit into the boards in Game 1. The hit was similar to the Bennett hit that got him suspended.

That's why he wasn't on the 1st or 2nd line.

If he really got injured then Deni or Hepo should've been playing in his place. Duke wasn't in the top6 because Q promoted Tippett and Mush. All of these guys are injured more or less after the reg season so it's not like rest of the squad is immune to injuries and Duke was the only one playing with a disadvantage.

Would this board not be a bit boring if we just answered with yes or no...? Hope we did not ruin your summer. March is not that good/worth it :sarcasm:

Good luck on the hunt - I remember some "nice" plays by him, but not on a "cheeky" level

That's literally how argument, debate, and exchange of ideas work. Someone makes a claim and presumably backs it up with evidence. The next person is free to disagree and provide their reasoning.

I look forward to seeing your video evidence. I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong and it turns out Marchment is a diamond in the rough with immense untapped offensive skill.

Sorry if it's coming off as standoffish a bit. I think it's bringing back memories of the Season telling people that Bob had a good game and some good saves, only to be simply told no he's not. A lot of times people wouldn't provide evidence and it would just snowball with more and more people. He made some really good saves on some really good people. The whole 10 million-dollar salary thing clouded people's judgment.

I'll do my best to provide what I can. If someone didn't score, it may be very hard to find.

And don't worry about ruining my summer. The Blue Jays return back to Toronto on July 30th :D

Price leaving Montreal makes Montreal better. He’s their Bobrovsky that had a good playoff run.

I don't have faith in his ability to be consistent over 82 games, but that puts the workload on Allen and I don't think he's capable of carrying it. Price had a good last 1/4 of the regular season and Allen had a bad one. If they lose both Price and Weber they are done.

Does anyone understand the positive value put on Capobianco by Zito with the Arizona talks? Will he be the next Forsling?

All you guys have to say is no and disagree with me. Now I have to find video proof of what I saw. I'll get back to you later this summer with actual video evidence.

i'm with you. i think we have a divergence in terms of semantics, though. folks who watched the team this season ought to know that he's got pretty soft hands for a guy who plays such heavy game.

that's a far cry from...

no. nobody's saying that.

maybe this is a poor analogy for some other reasons but consider him a more physical alex killorn. a middle six guy who's hard to play against but has the hands to finish chances. may never sniff .5 ppg but still is an incredibly valuable member of the team.

Marchment has the tools of a replacement player.

He has the toolbox of a middle six forward. Plays don't die on his stick. He will be fine in a fourth line role.

If he is playing in the top 6 that isn't good.
He won’t be but it’s good to have optionality and someone who can protect Barkov if need be..

right now with Duke signed, I’d love to trade Tippett and futures for Laine. That would make us a contender

Kraken will have some pretty good players, so they could be another Vegas or close to it. Depends how they all gel. Not to be taken lightly.

Goalie: Holtby, Driedger, Kahkonen (Very good)

Defense: Hamilton, Dunn, Giordano, Gostisbehere, Shattenkirk. (This is a bit weak.)

Forwards: Landeskog, Johansen, Tarasenko, Gourde, Hall, van Riemsdyk, Saad, Danault, Palmieri, Hyman, Schwartz, Dadonov, Henrique. (Excellent.)

Plus another 10 players, maybe some younger potential ones.

(Could they even convince Ovechkin to lead the team??? One thinks no but the new energy could get him to break the goals record maybe?)

I think trading OT would be a huge mistake. Look at the way he progressed through the year. And this was basically Year One!

If I'm Francis, I'm not helping any teams out with big contracts. Take cheap players from every team to meet the cap floor, then offer to take on contracts for more assets from teams - IE Tarasenko, Gourde, JVR

Sure, and that’s the better long term view anyway. They probably can’t afford all those on the list, but the point is they have pieces to build around. Teams now can protect either 9 or 11 total. Wasn’t the number 13 that could be protected when Panthers etc were ushered in?

Vegas could basically collect two good second lines and two third lines on offense and almost the same on defense. And a couple of great NHL goalies. Kraken will get the same, even though Dale isn’t there to help them.

I doubt they select and sign that many ufa's. And Ovi will never leave Washington.

Sounds pretty much the same as Carlsson in the connolly trade. Essentially the same thing in my eyes. Forsling at least played in chicago so picking him up on waivers was slightly different. Just a prospect with some potential in exchange for a cap dump and a pick. I hope the trade happens (assuming we use some of that cap space in free agency)

Almost all the players you listed are UFAs that wont be signing in Seattle, their roster will be mediocre.

Here's my projected roster:

Drouin-McCann-Donato

Bellows-Benson-Blackwell-Bunting-Merkley-Gadjovich
