He's done as much as Quinn or Clarke, possibly Jarvis

Rees and Perfetti are ahead imo
I agree. I'd put Rees, Perfetti, Jarvis all slightly ahead with Clarke, Quinn, Zary, maybe Poulin fighting for the extra forward spots. I'd probably take Quinn and Zary if the roster was picked today but will likely go to the kid who had 3 points in the final exhibition game even though 2 of them were pucks off his skate that someone picked up and took end to end.

Either way, Canada will be stacked, just a pet peeve of mine when Craig Button and others get hung up on kids almost entirely off the boxscores of exhibition games.

interesting, so they are sending home the two players that tested positive and three others that they will cut? or three others that were exposed?

I'm curious to see what the reasoning is for now releasing players who were positive two weeks ago. No reason to believe they're currently a threat to spread it now, as far as I can tell.

Must be exposed.

I thought McKenzie had retired? If he's going to tweet nothing but bad news, then please stay retired.

I agree. I am starting to believe the tournament has, at best, a 50% chance of playing.

He signed a multi-year contract with TSN to still cover WJC, trade deadline day etc.

He just won't be a panelist for TSN NHL games throughout the year.

I wonder if the Hawks recalled Dach at this point since it seems like the season is gonna start soon after the WJC is finished

Edit: Now that I think about it, this could also apply to Byram and Byfield as well.

I saw an interview that Byfield has already talked with Kings management and even if return to play happens over the tournament he's staying I think. I'd sooner guess Cousins as a guy who's going to NHL camp.

As to the other part why do previously positive players have to leave? They shouldn't be a danger to infect anyone at this point. That leaves a lot of questions, on top of that we'll know exactly who had covid when each player leaves. MacKenzie adds that the 5 players leaving might not have covid but may have other ailments.

It's now a full bubble and none of the scrimmages will be streamed.

I think too many people have Zary as a lock because of a couple of secondary assists and an empty-net goal in an exhibition game playing on a line with arguably the best player going into this tournament.

Not saying Zary isn't a good player or doesn't deserve to be there, but I see him much closer to the bubble than a lock. Especially given some of the other players like Rees, Perfetti, Jarvis, Clarke, Quinn, and their full body of work. He's definitely taken a step forward but will still need to prove himself given the camp has essentially hit the reset button.
People had Zary as a lock because of the way the coaches singled him out as a top player, however I do agree that the camp has hit a bit of a reset button and other players still have a chance to come up with a last minute surge to put them over the top.

I'm no epidemiologist, but I don't think there's a guarantee that if you have covid-19, and you quarantine for 14 days, that it's gone.

I'm not an epidemiologist either but I am taking a Biology degree, I should have said that they shouldn't be a danger to infect others after 14 days and multiple negative tests. However you're completely right the test can give false negatives, that sucks so much for the guys who caught it what a way to get cut from the WJC.

Anyone have a link to the Canadian press conference starting shortly? I assume that will answer some of our main questions.

It could also be a matter of ongoing symptoms like lung damage. I've a friend who had it 6 months ago (not bad enough to go to hospital or anything) and she can't run for even 10 seconds without all her muscles being absolutely drained for a few days. Doctors I just now letting her work out, and the workouts are basically absolute basic beginner workouts.

The unknown factor about being in self isolation, how does this effect each individual. It also could show the determination of some of these players. Why would you continue self isolating when you don't have a shot at the team. This is Military Prelim mind games, imagine sitting in your room knowing you didn't play your best....away from friends and family.
