Im starting to get the feeling Laf isn't going to play; just because. The NHL still won't play but we will still miss him for "reasons."

Bettman is an easy target and I get that. Hate on him all you want, but just know that there are many stakeholders in this negotiation from owners to players to even the health authorities of the different regions. This isn’t going to be something that can be thrown together quickly which is why I find it odd that they have stuck to their original January 1st timeline.

Of course, what I’m really saying is JUST GET LAF TO CANADA ALREADY!
You have to comb the bottom of Hell to find a man like Gary Bettman. Sadly, the NHL did.

I'm starting to get the feeling that we don't need him and that it will be hard for the Canadians to stay grounded having so much more talent than the other teams. I also wonder if Kakko or Hughes play and if Kakko plays whether that's motivation for Laf to face off against his future teammate.

Hughes is not on team USA roster. I don’t know about Kakko. Considering the enormous hurdles to even get a team together and satisfy all the protocols there’s not going to be any last minute heroics.

Canada's world juniors roster: Corey Pronman projects the lineup

Pronmans write up on who he has making the team. Hard to disagree with any of it at face value but i didnt do a super deep dive into the bubble guys. One I did notice is Spence and Sebrango making it over O'Rourke. Although I will say,Spence has actually been playing games this year and between Sebrango and O'Rourke, theyre both 2nd/3rd rounders with a similar history with Canada so it could simply be Sebrango is a bit better skater and had a better couple games.

Hard to say if they'll go off track record or their couple of camp games and practices to pick the team. Projected roster with Garand starting is:

Connor McMichaelKirby DachDawson Mercer
Alex NewhookDylan CozensPeyton Krebs
Cole PerfettiQuinton ByfieldPhilip Tomasino
Dylan HollowayConnor ZaryJamieson Rees
Samuel PoulinJack Quinn

Bowen ByramJamie Drysdale

Donovan SebrangoJordan Spence

I could easily see those forwards being correct, though I'd give Pelletier better odds than Poulin. I expect that Korczak will make it however, probably over Barron or Spence among RHD. Most "insider" projections feature him and TSN has had him featured pretty prominently.

I’d also say Pelletier over Perfetti, they hinted on the broadcast how much Tourigny loves Pelletier and Button has been saying Perfetti is not ready. Pronman’s pedigree logic doesn’t exactly follow HC’s logic. I could see Poulin and a guy like Grieg. I don’t think Quinn will be extra. And I still think they want Wright along for the experience so he can be the man next year. Button says the 7 D are set with Barron, ROR and Spence in the mix for the 8th.

Button said Sebrango is one of the top 7 D? I musta missed that

It's going to be really hard for them to make Cuts going off two games of exhibition. Talk about a small sample size!

I think Team Canada is going to pick the chalk. Players that have a high ceiling; first round picks, and prior Team Canada experience.

Where did Button say Perfetti is not ready?

Where did Button say Perfetti is not ready?

It was an off the cuff comment in an interview with Vancouver radio saying some of the 02's may not be ready this year and he mentioned Perfetti amongst a number of other high end 02's. But Button also did a player profile on Perfetti in the series of profiles he has done for TSN for players he expects to be a big part of the team. To date he has done profiles in order for: Byfield, Dach, Byram, Perfetti, Cozens, Drysdale, Krebs so I think he thinks he may be a big part of the team. But who knows and Button certainly isn't making the decisions.

have to find room for Pelletier.
Out on a limb with a few D.
I don’t see Quinn making it as of yet. I would rate him bubble.
Otherwise
Good as any picks.
