Also the most Atlantic Canadians on the team in at the very least the very least the past 20/30 years. So proud of Jordan!! Might have to bust out of this Pei bubble to go watch..
Only surprise that sticks out for me. I thought Rees would have been named.Roster pretty well as expected.
Suzuki over Rees was the only one I am remotely surprised by.
Suzuki over Rees is a very odd decision. We’re not lacking skill and Rees brings great speed and sandpaper to a checking line.
This is probably way off, but I would go into the tournament with:
Quinn-Cozens-Dach
Perfetti-McMichael-Tomasino
Krebs-Byfield-Mercer
Holloway-Newhook-Pelletier
Suzuki, Zary
Byram-Barron
Guhle-Drysdale
Harley-Schneider
Korczak-Spence
Levi
Gauthier
Garand
We’ve got such depth of skill this year that we should really roll all lines every single game and have everyone able to give 110% every shift. If Levi gives even an adequate performance this team should win every game comfortably.
Canadian teams never really confirm a starter. Having said that, I think it’s probably safe to infer that Levi is in the starter role based on how that last game went. It’s all very tentative though and there are still exhibition games to be played. Is Levi confirmed as the starter ?
what’s crazy is that the 03 batch will feature 10-15 1st rounders, along with 2 exceptionals, and Savoie.
the 02 batch can still comeback next year
Depends on how you define mediocre. Despite being the best 2002 in the world, and generally viewed as such, he's never really shown it at any major event for U-17 Challenge, Hlinka and last years WJC. He was a good player at both U-17 and Hlinka, but was outplayed by other guys his age group at both (Notably Perfetti and Lapierre at Hlinka).Byfield has always been mediocre in best vs best tournaments thus far right? or am I mistaken? I heard Button mention it.
