I watched him very closely last WJC, he may have played amazing for Vancouver, that isn't what I'm stating. I am saying he was terrible defensively last year at the WJC. Now you will respond using TOI and +- to prove your point and complete this endless circle.

Go back to the game threads, I'm pretty sure I mentioned every time he got walked or did something stupid in the dzone.

If he was terrible defensively at last World Juniors, then why did he play 9:14 in the 3rd period of the gold medal game? I’m pretty sure he lead the team in ice time last year? Why is that? I think he was on the ice for the last 3 min, defending a lead. Why is that? If he was terrible defensively, he wouldn’t be on the ice at all defending a lead.

Canada was behind in the third last year, and they abandoned the defensive game to take chances.

That’s where Byram comes in. Like I said, he’s a poor man’s Erik Karlsson. He’s great offensively. But defensively he is lost. Just like EK65.

Hmm I don’t remember that but would be a very poor coaching decision to put someone who is such a mess defensively out there. Not surprising though to see someone blinded by draft pedigree

Masters says that due to IIHF rules, Byram and Cozens will split wearing the C from game to game. McMichael has an A now. Also in the warmups Quinn replaced Mercer on the Byfield LW.

I think Robertson would've been on the team, considering there's no other good reason to have 5RHD, 3LHD, but couldn't you argue that Korczak only made it because Robertson couldn't?

If you have big, defensive options like Robertson, Guhle, Barron, Schneider already on the team it might make more sense to take a different style of defenseman. I think Spence would've benefited from that, and Korczak might've suffered from being too similar to too many guys already ahead of him.

I find it hard to believe youve ever actually watched Spence play if you think that. Hes caught in a numbers game with so many offensive RHD being elite for team Canada this season.

Expect those two to rotate in and out of the lineup

Maybe its just me, but I feel like its been a LONG time since we last had somewhat of a blue-chipper in net. Like seriously, last couple tournaments have had guys I've barely heard of. I remember we had a good run of Price, Mason, Tokarski, Allen, Visentin.

Fucale may be the last blue chip goalie (at the time) we had play for us? Maybe I'm drawing a blank?
